Not being able to say certain words.

I'm not talking about mispronouncing words (even that is a problem for me) but just not being able to certain words in certain situations. Like in public or any social situation I can't bring myself swear, or use a lot of "inappropriate" language. Obviously when I was younger I didn't want to get in trouble, but now I'm older and don't see anything wrong with them per se, but I still can't.

Does anyone else have certain words or subjects they just can't say or talk about?

Oh, and if I'm reading it off a page for a class or something like I can say it, but when they're are my own words or I have a real choice it's not a big deal. And when I'm alone it's not a big deal either. (yes, that means I occasionally talk to myself)

When I got out of the Marines, I could barely speak in public, because every other word out of my mouth was the F bomb.

Thats another super negative about me. I swear like a sailor. You can tell a lot about someones intelligence by the words they speak. I am a dumbass for making it habitual to swear like I do.

A lot of times my thoughts are colored with swears, I just can't articulate them.I am not overly intelligent. High IQ, but not really "smart."

HAHA! If you think smart people don't swear watch George Carlin's stand up routine.

There isn't anything specific that I can't say, just talking in general is the problem. Oh, and if talking to yourself makes you crazy I'm Nikola freakin' Tesla.

I stutter, so there's lots of stuff I can't say. But that's not really what you're talking about....and I don't curse, lol, sorry my post has nothing to do with yours! :)

My first job was in an environment where swearing was commonplace, and if you didn't speak the same way you stood out. When I moved on to a shirt and tie office job it took me a while to stop with the eff this and eff that. It got me a few  glances until I was able to make a conscious effort to bring it under control. Even now I'm still more likely to let rip with the profanities than most of my colleagues. I like to think it adds colour to my personality. :D

I'm from a family where we swear a lot to each other (friends always found this very amusing when I was a kid), but I'm well mannered when I'm among other people.

intelligence and words someone speaks are COMPLETELY unrelated. they are 2 completely different mechanisms in the brain. if someone is injured in the one part of their brain that communicates...they can still retain and understand knowledge perfectly however may be unable to communicate it. this is fact.

Sometimes it's necessary to swear to let out anger. If a guy in a BMW doesn't yield when you have the right-of-way, it's ok to give him the finger. If your computer shows the blue screen of death, it's ok to say 'motherf*cker' instead of 'hamburgers'. This prevents you from taking out your frustration on innocent people.

I swear a lot... it's like part of my vocabulary :D... it's expression... it's such a strong and efficient way to express anger/frustration/incitement... it's a shame that most people think it's "wrong".

As for myself, I have trouble saying words that invoke anything personal that I feel uncomfortable with or unconfident talking about. like: "mom"...etc

I don't have it with swearwords, I have it more with words that expresses appreciation. Words like ''Love (when it regards someone I like)'', ''Thank you'' and many more.

i hate how society pins swear words with a bad connotation

they're just verbal expression of negative emotion, something every human feels

with that said i try not to use them :) at least lately.

I have a hard time saying anything if it would reveal how I am feeling or what my opinions on subjects are. I've held so much in for so long I don't even know if I can express myself anymore.
