2 weeks on the disks, no difference yet. In fact, I feel more red, because they leave a film on that's irritating my cheeks a bit. Am I expecting too much too soon?

Does anyone else experience flushing/blushing to be less of a problem when they are in hot and humid weather? Whenever I go to warmer places, and in the summer, this is much less of a problem to me. For instance last october I went on a holiday where it was 30 degrees celcius (85F) and very humid, I'd be baking in the sun all day and my redness would be, ironically enough, almost completely under control. I find this puzzling and wonder if anyone else has it the same way.

are these places outside? i feel much more comfortable being outside than inside, probably because i feel enlosed in a room and the lights. it depends on the lighting also of a room depending on whether im more/less nervous.

No this is everywhere. It's almost as if the body is compensating for the heat by turning down the body temp. However, this doesn't apply when I'm in a hot room at home...go figure

okay, so I've been using the discs for 2 months now, and I'm still not completely confident about blushing/flushing. Maybe I'm doing something wrong..? Please Real Remedy or whoever else is on the discs describe in great detail exactly what they do it means a great deal to me. As specific as how many seconds and in what kind of motions you rub the disc on your face, what do you do before/ after, do you eat as you regularly would, do you drink more water, is there a lot of extra material on your face after completely dried, if there are specific times of the day you apply the discs, do you take any extra pills or vitamins with using the discs, etc., whatever comes to your mind please include.

Please please write back ASAP.. thanks!

Hi folks,

I've been following this for a couple of weeks and I find it quite helpful.

Well, I have been suffering from flushing for almost a year and now looking for a life-long remedy. I should admit that i used to be a shy boy in my childhood, but when i grew older i beat it and had very very occasional flushes.

In addition, I have always been very social and good with girls. Until my professional career, especially in my educational life (from the age of 12 to 24) I remeber only one occasion of extreme blushing, which was during a scholarship interview with 20 highly qualified candidates, and at the same time, when I had a terrible cold. Again within that time as a student, I had several social part-time jobs like working for restaurants, night clubs, cafes, local radio stations (as a DJ), and an airport ground handling company.

Now I'm a 28 year-old teacher at a university. I don't know why but this flushings are occuring more and more everyday. In fact, I believe I'm not a shy person, but I'm having problems especially at my workplace. This happens more when I talk to the school director so I keep our contacts as short as possible.

This situation is no more understandable. In class time, I don't have much trouble as long as everything is under control. When I get angry, laugh, be nervous, see somebodyelse blushing, or even bend over to pick the board-marker I dropped, I immediately go red. I feel the heat on my cheeks. However, I'm happy that I can control this to some extent.

My primary weapon to control flushing is to change the topic. If I'm the listener, then I try to think of something I like-eg fishing. I imagine myself catching a very big fish at sea, or a nice summer day. Then it goes away.
I never leave the place, nor end the conversation. Keep on and try to fight.

Yet, as I mentioned, it is getting more and more everyday. I dont know what to do. I cant believe that I am in such a situation. I have studied the sympomts of histedelia (Histamine exess), and I have all the symptoms except for long fingers. I hate hot places, I love cold. 90% of my clothes are short sleeves, imagine! I'm a workoholic, too. And many more...

OK. Let me write what I have done since I first started reading this thread.
First of all, I started drinking water. Before, I used hate drinking water, but since last week, I am drinking 2 liters per a day. It was like 200 ml per a day or no water before.

Second, I got the medical stuff I could today. These are calcium tablets of 500 mg, 1000 mg l-methionine, and niacin 500 mg.

I conluded that these will reduce the histamine level in my blood, hopefully.

I'm planning to take niacin tablets (Solgar's No Flush Niacin 500 mg) before I go to bed, calcium tablets twice a day after breakfast and dinner, and and methionine tablets again twice a day after breakfast and dinner.

I hope they help me and do not form other complications for my health.

Now, I have four questions,

1) I have read that it takes some time to get better, but aren't there any more convenient and temporary methods with permanent effects?
I mean, do we have to use all the supplements for the rest of our lives to get rid of this stupid reddening?

2) Can 500mg niacin pills have any side/adverse effects on my helath?

3) If blushing is related to histamine directly, why is it mostly in the face? Isn't the whole body supposed to be red then? Take me for example, my neck never goes red when my face is red, which is another handicapp-You are distinguished more and more easily because of contrasting colors :)

4) Should I also get psychological help for that since it is more common when I interact with my co-workers and directors?

Hope to hear from you soon,

Take care...

Did everyone disappear from this thread???

I don't post in this thread anymore but I still read it from time to time. I have given up on finding a cure for this **** on the internet. I don't think it's that simple. There's nothing wrong with me physically, I don't think it's high histamine or whatever. I'm the same guy I was 10 years ago but now I blush a lot because I developed a phobia of blushing. It's all in our head, if we want to fix this we need medication + therapy in my opinion.

My doctor prescribed me a beta blocker (Inderal LA) that I take every morning and it helps. I will also see a psychiatrist in 3 days. Hopefully with hard work I will be able to beat/improve this ****.

I'm still here. I had to take a few days break from the disks because I developed a rash on my nose and upper lip area. I started seeing a slight difference in perm redness on my cheeks (I only get red on a limited area, nothing whatsoever outside of that very distinct border, so I used the discs only there), and outside the cheeks I noticed the skin was slightly more red. I went to using the white disc there without using the tan disk first, so I'm guessing that's why I got the rash. Still no noticable improvement on flushing, though, but I'm gonna keep using it for a few months, I reckon. Only used the strongest disk a week or so.

Now on 2 months using L-methionine + calcium, no help from it. Gonna use up the tablets I bought, then try new things. Argin-Max, Cellfood and L-lysine (maybe gaba) are first on my list.

Don't give up folks.

To anyone using the discs, I've been using these discs for over 2 months now, and I am still not completely confident in myself for flushing. Today I had a confrontation with someone (it got very intense) and I went bright red. I'm wondering if the discs are still working for you, and if so could you please explain to me in detail exactly what you do while using them. Do you have certain times of the day to apply them, how many seconds do you rub the discs on your face and in what sort of motion, do you alter your diet, do you have excess material after you've applied the discs and they have been dried, do you use a washcloth while washing your face before you apply, how many waterbottles do you drink a day, do you take any extra pills or vitamins for anxiety, etc. Whatever comes to mind PLEASE ADD IN.

please write back ASAP. If it's not working, please let me know, I don't want to waste anymore of my time on it if it's going to end up doing nothing for me. I really need your help right now. This is very important to me for ANYONE using the disc to write back, and I will contrast and compare our tactics. Thank you:).

I've been using the discs for just over a couple of months now. Went well initially, but like you I've had some major blushing episodes recently. Started considering whether it was just a temporary placebo effect. However more recently I started ditching the other advice - washing, using jojoba oil, using the disc for a specified number of seconds etc. Fundamentally you're applying sulphur and zinc to your face that with luck will help act as a vasoconstrictor. I don't think the intense routine you're advised to follow in the letter that accompanies the product is really that important. Consequently I just use one of the disks (whichever I grab first) on my face straight out of the shower, and apply a decent amount (probably a few seconds each cheek). After dressing I gently dust off residue sulphur, or else I end up smeling like an egg, which my girlfriend does not find appealing. I don't apply at night as I don't see the logis to there being value in cumulatve build up.

Don't think you should pin all your hopes in this product. It's a tool for the toolbox, certainly not a cure. I'm looking to start combining with subtle (male) camoflauge / make up and drinking more iced water at work. That's 3 'tools'. I may even look into using Preparation H on the face - its vasoconstricting effects are well known - though whether I can face the combination of smelling eggy AND having backside cream on my face remains to be seen... It's enough to make me f**king blush.

and its supposed to prevent your face from flushing?

That reamins a question. It's designed to stop piles flaring up, and restricting bloodflow around your arse. People are squeamish about applying it to the face for that reason, so even anecdotal evidence about using it is sparse on the internet.

(Being squeamish is just silly: it's being applied before it's come into contact with anyone's piles. It's just a cream containing phenylephrine, a known vasocronstrictor.)

Only true route is to give it a go. If it causes any form of reaction than stop immediately, but otherwise what have you got to lose? Seems to have more medical weight than a lot of the untested quackery floating about the net promising to stem blushing but only getting hopes up unnecessarily!
