My husband told me that I'm selfish, and that my therapist agreed with him. My one goal in life is to not be selfish (and my sister has told me that I'm not), but I can't shake it. It's horrible.

"You're fat"

By numerous people- including my ex, all my life, even over the phone!

Another guy arranged to meet up with me. Then saw me and pretended he felt sick. Making vomiting noises and everything.

Tried ringing me later that day- probably to insult me.

I'd never felt so ashamed in my life.

Oh and a nickname people gave me when i was a teenager: Charzilla...

I feel like some sorta monster...

Woops! It was meant to be one comment... Sorry!

I'm feeling whiny right now, so here i go:

-"You are my worst nightmare" (My mother when i was little)
-"I hope you die" (Everyone in the family and out of the family have told me this XD )
-"I should have aborted you" (My mother one day she was pissy about something else)
-"Nobody likes you" (My brother)
-"Why do you always have to ruin everything?" (My mother during dinner, long time ago.. I was little)
-"You are the reason this family is separated" (My mother when i was little... i don't remember what age)
-"you are a bad influence for the other kids" (a teacher when i was 6)
-"You are the dark side of life" (Another teacher from the same school when i was 6)
-"You are a Cancer" (my grandma a few years ago)
-"I'm not touching you.. not even with a stick" (My mother after an argument a few years ago)
-"Get out of my sight... you disgusting little devil" (The principal at school when i was 10.. LOL)
-"God.. she annoys the hell out of me" (My grandma to my mother... she was refering to me. It was a couple of days ago)
- "You are a bit fat, indeed..." (A classmate about two weeks ago)

I could continue but i think i whined enough for today :D I might delete all this crap later... probably.

WHOA!!! Your family and school are majorly messed up!! So sorry to hear this.. You should leave that town and start afresh- Though social phobia and not knowing people wont make it easy... I survived 3 months!!

I have fairly small squinty eyes too. Which get even smaller when I laugh/smile. A couple years ago I was in an English class one of which I was fairly comfortable in, people usually don't bother me at all. But there was this one kid and he was a bit of an obnoxious jerk, probably why he got moved to the front of the class beside me. Anyway, he started always asking me "Are you high???" Because of my eyes. That carried on for about half a week and I still really regret not really standing up for myself. So good for you for doing so! All I did at first was just "heh" and then after a while I just ignored him, but I wish I'd said something back to him. Anyway, I think your eyes are very, very pretty.

Aw, i was bullied for years for having 'cats eyes' so that comment from an older guy just really got to me and i somehow had the courage to say what i said lol.

*Big hugs to you*

Cat-like eyes are soooooo so nice and unique. You should embrace it if anything, I find it very nice to look at. In ancient Egypt, they put make up on their eyes to make them look that way, not to mention lots of people nowadays try to make that effect. But I'm definitely glad that you had the courage to say something back to him since he was trying to insult you.

<big hugs back>

when i was dating a girl in middle school (haha i know i was young), my friend broke the news to me that she wanted to break up. I was like "why does she want to break up just bored or something"? He responded with a "no she said you are butt ugly and a horrible kisser".

One comment?! ONE comment?!

- "Loserrrr" (girl I was kind of friends with about four years ago)
- "You're gay" (said to me randomly when I was about eight by a really dorky kid in the playground...he was also wandering around by himself...)
- "You don't go out?" (the hairdresser this morning...see, people CAN read minds; how could she tell how pathetic I was just by looking at me and talking to me - no, at me - for thirty seconds)
- "Why aren't you studying medicine?" (every person I've ever spoken to in the past year)
- "And you can sit out here until you STOP CRYING!" (my teacher when I was five, and had been at school for a few weeks, crying because I hadn't been given a worksheet)
- "Sarah, that looks really bad" (girl in my class when I was thirteen, after I'd got a new hairstyle)
- "You DO kind of have a big forehead..." (my friend when I was twelve)
- "A-ha, I KNEW you were a man!" (another friend when I was twelve, after our art teacher had told us that one of the differences between men's and women's faces was that men have a larger space between their nose and upper lip)
- "I want shoulder-length hair...but, er, not...like Sarah's" (friend when I was fourteen)
- "CRAAACKKKKKKKKK!" (friend last December when we were holidaying together and I was looking in the bathroom mirror...)
- "You've got more pimples - er, freckles - since last time I saw you" (same friend a few months ago)
- "You're finally getting SURGERY!" (same friend when I told her I was having my wisdom teeth out)
- "Did you fight?" (my German grandad, in his broken English, commenting on my black eyeliner)
- "Right...hmmm...no, but seriously..." (my maths tutor after my parents half-joked that the rank I was hoping for at the end of high school was 99.00...as it happened, I got 99.60, so suck on that, Trevor! Heheh.)
- "All she's doing is standing there playing with the chips; she's got no idea what she's doing...now she has to stroll over to the fridge and get the coleslaw out, which'll take another ten minutes..." (guy whose wife was abusing me and my manager the first - and only - day I was put on the front counter at the fast food place I was working at; I quit a few days later)
- "Good marks in high school don't indicate intelligence; you need to be able to think outside the square; everything you do in high school is rote learning." (Stranger on Yahoo! answers when I asked for career advice; whether I should stay in speech pathology or actually try and get into medicine)

Negative:
My father calling me a retard. An idiot. Yelling "Why can't you just be normal?" at me.

Positive:
Last weekend, a guy I barely knew came up to me, gave me a hug and told me he used to be like me and that ASL really helped him open up. It gave me hope that I could change.

One time, a girl in one of my classes said that I had "a boring and strange personality." Then she never talked to me again.

I've been told i am fat and ugly and look like a man, that really messed with my self image!

Well your so slim most girls would kill for your figure, your pretty and very far from ugly, and I'm not gay nor do I like my girls to look manly :D So I think that person was just jelous or being spitefull.

One comment which hurt me a bit was a girl once said to me,"you would be fit if you wasnt as short".She said she ment it as a compliment, but it just knocked my confidence a bit thinking so being short makes me unattractive.

What's one thing in your lifetime that someone told you that has affected your confidence?

A girl i had to share a work space with in college told me i was no fun to be with and that i had no clue how to talk to people. This was ten years ago yet i still have this going through my mind, and i am constantly worried about how people see me. It seems to bother me a lot that i think that people see me as boring becasue i have a hard time maintaining conversation.

anytime a girl talks to me, she says something negative, and they look at me like im a freak too. ive given up and acknowledged that i will most likely never date, have any friends to spend time with, and die a virgin.

This makes me remember what happened to me,but it didnt affect my confidence,I just thought it was funny,we were having an argument in class about creation and evolution and at one point I was arguing with this creationist girl, then later the teacher was showing the hominids discovered and when he was showing a hairy one(I had long hair before) the same girl then shouts "hey that looks like Adriano" hahaha :D

Another girl also gave me a nickname for me because I had acne,"chokito",its the name of this chocolate......

And you are absolutely gorgeous the way you are, being an few inches taller wouldn't make a difference, you'd still be a hottie...just taller hehe

lol I could probably crash this website. Since I got SP every tiny insult stings like a Bullet Ant. Yet the insulter is clueless and thinks I should be able to take it in stride and accept them and their clueless, malformed opinions of me.

For instance, ever since I was a little kid I've played sports everyday and excelled at Baseball & Soccer. I'm very athletic and deceptively strong for my appearance and maxed out 1-rep max on bench 245 lbs when I used to work out. I'm tall and skinny looking though even though I have muscles so everyone thinks I'm some weak, un-athletic idiot who has never played a sport in his life.

I just joined a really competetive softball league and the first time I got up to bat someone actually yelled out, "MOVE IN!!!" like I was going to be a weak hitter. I've always been known as a great hitter at my competetive level (town leagues, state leagues) ever since I was a kid and they should be moving back, but my appearance just shouts "weak idiot" and that's what everyone assumes of me. And for some reason people always assume I'm unintelligent too.

One more reason to hate people and countdown the days til the sun runs out of fuel, can't wait.
