Work is horrible

Most people probably wouldn't understand, but if I didn't have to work, I know I would be a happy man. Work makes my life hell on a daily basis. I wish I could withdraw from society altogether, that's my biggest dream. Anyone else feel the same? (probably not)

Same here. And today once again I was told I'm too slow. I really don't think I can continue like this. Maybe I should look for very simple jobs, but what?

I tried to make conversation with the people I worked with as often as I could. It did not turn out very well, most of the times. I would trip over my own words, not make sense, and say the wrong words that mean other stuff. It was a nightmare.

Typical advice would be: "Just keep talking to people, and it will eventually come natural; you will overcome your anxiety through exposure".

Here are some work quotes:

Mark Twain said:
What work I have done I have done because it has been play. If it had been work I shouldn't have done it. Who was it who said, "Blessed is the man who has found his work"? Whoever it was he had the right idea in his mind. Mark you, he says his work--not somebody else's work. The work that is really a man's own work is play and not work at all. Cursed is the man who has found some other man's work and cannot lose it. When we talk about the great workers of the world we really mean the great players of the world. The fellows who groan and sweat under the weary load of toil that they bear never can hope to do anything great. How can they when their souls are in a ferment of revolt against the employment of their hands and brains? The product of slavery, intellectual or physical, can never be great.

Abe Lincoln said:
My father taught me to work; he did not teach me to love it.

I even had trouble with the "good morning". Each day I would head straight to my desk, sit down, turn around and say "good morning" to the two guys sitting near me, and then speak nothing at all until it was time to say "bye" in the evening. After a week into my job it started becoming hilarious for those guys and they would sing "good morning" in different tunes and snicker behind my back. Within two months I was the butt of jokes in the whole office and one fine day after the lunch break I said I was going home because of headache, and never returned to work. ::(:

You should have told them to learn some manners. As long as you were doing your job you didn't need to take irrelevant s**t. I regret not answering back similarly throughout my childhood to kids who would tease me. My staying silent only built up my internal frustration until one day it blew up wiping off entire years of my life.

You cant live without working...

That's an uncanny description to the experiences I had at my last job. I would try to make the effort to say hi to work colleagues but after a while it would turn into this inside joke which they thought I couldn't understand. Once they had all these balloons in the office and someone drew a picture of me on one of them and threw it on my desk with "Stop being so sad all the time" written on it. I quit my job soon after that.

Take the power back!!!

Maybe if all the introverted, shy, HSP, mentally ill, handicapped, minorities, etc. were 100% employed then the workplace would be a totally different place. It's definitely discrimination against "imperfect" humans. Employers get to pick and choose based on their prejudices and bias. Entire segments of the population are excluded from earning money. But then when the companies have financial difficulties, they get bailed out by "public" money. Fascism and apartheid are running rampant.

Work isn't horrible, the workplace is horrible. Bosses are assholes and hire other assholes like them. We need everyone on this site to get a job and stay employed. We need others like us in the workplace. Maybe nice people like us aren't a majority, but if we work while the assholes are being assholes, maybe eventually the workplace will be tolerable.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Article 23.

* (1) Everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favourable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment.
* (2) Everyone, without any discrimination, has the right to equal pay for equal work.
* (3) Everyone who works has the right to just and favourable remuneration ensuring for himself and his family an existence worthy of human dignity, and supplemented, if necessary, by other means of social protection.
* (4) Everyone has the right to form and to join trade unions for the protection of his interests.

Article 24.

* Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay.

Bring that shit in! Uggh!

Yeah, the movement's in motion with mass militant poetry
Now check this out...uggh!

In the right light, study becomes insight
But the system that dissed us
Teaches us to read and right

So called facts are fraud
They want us to allege and pledge
And bow down to their God
Lost the culture, the culture lost
Spun our minds and through time
Ignorance has taken over
Yo, we gotta take the power back!
Bam! Here's the plan
Mother**** Uncle Sam
Step back, I know who I am
Raise up your ear, I'll drop the style and clear
It's the beats and the lyrics they fear
The rage is relentless
We need a movement with a quickness
You are the witness of change
And to counteract
We gotta take the power back

Yeah, we gotta take the power back
Come on, come on!
We gotta take the power back

The present curriculum
I put my fist in 'em
Eurocentric every last one of 'em
See right through the red, white and blue disguise
With lecture I puncture the structure of lies
Installed in our minds and attempting
To hold us back
We've got to take it back
Holes in our spirit causin' tears and fears
One-sided stories for years and years and years
I'm inferior? Who's inferior?
Yeah, we need to check the interior
Of the system that cares about only one culture
And that is why
We gotta take the power back

Yeah, we gotta take the power back
Come on, come on!
We gotta take the power back

Hey yo check, we're gonna have to break it, break it,
break it down
Awww shit!

Uggh!

And like this...uggh!

Come on, yeah! Bring it back the other way!

The teacher stands in front of the class
But the lesson plan he can't recall
The student's eyes don't perceive the lies
Bouning off every ****ing wall
His composure is well kept
I guess he fears playing the fool
The complacent students sit and listen to some of that
Bullshit that he learned in school

Europe ain't my rope to swing on
Can't learn a thing from it
Yet we hang from it
Gotta get it, gotta get it together then
Like the mother****in' weathermen
To expose and close the doors on those who try
To strangle and mangle the truth
'Cause the circle of hatred continues unless we react
We gotta take the power back

Yeah, we gotta take the power back
Come on, come on!
We gotta take the power back

No more lies
No more lies
No more lies
No more lies
No more lies
No more lies
No more lies
No more lies

Uggh!

Yeah!

Take it back y'all
Take it back, a-take it back
A-take it back y'all, come on!
Take it back y'all
Take it back, a-take it back
A-take it back y'all, come on!

Uggh!

Yeah!
