For those who live with people do you guys eat together as a family or with roommates? Do you guys socialize a lot at meal times. I personally don't. ::eek:: Just wondering about you guys :)

My hubby works during breakfast and lunch times most days...but we eat dinner together. Right now we eat on the couch and watch TV....when our son gets older we'll move into the dining room.

I guess i do, because its just me and my mum i pretty much do all the cooking unless we don't feel like eating a big proper meal, but yeah we socialise and catch up on our tv normally :D

nope my mom stands and eats and she's making dinner and then leaves it there for my sisters to take. I don't trust her food so I eat a separate meal. Then it's usually left there overnight and thrown away. I'd really love to have some 'family' moments though, but we've never been a 'family' kind of family, as my mom refuses to eat meals together.

When I went away to college my freshman year and lived on campus, I ate 99.9% of my meals alone. I would skip dinner often so I wouldn't be seen alone and so no one would try to sit with me....no idea why I was so anti social then...

nope. i live at home and often i am the one that cooks but it is very rare that we eat together. when i had roommate i cooked my own stuff, they cooked their own stuff.

when i was a kid my mom made us eat together at the dinner table every night. it's a good idea in theory but in reality it was a means of control and a time for her to push her misery and hostility on us. my dad (they were divorced) let us eat on tv trays and we would all enjoy watching tv together. much more relaxed and fun.

I just try to take separate breaks like in my previous jobs. I can't take separate breaks at my current job but I'm so proud of myself going through it.

I live with my grandmother and I eat in my bedroom. The only time I eat with my family is on special occasions. It's usually only my father, grandmother, and my brother. I don't really say anything. I just eat and leave.

I don't like eating with my grandmother or my father because they just stare at me and ask me millions and millions of questions.

My sister lives across the street from us and used to come over all the time. Her me and my parents would always eat dinner together at the table.. I was often quiet but still enjoyed it cause it was the only time I felt close to my family.

However, as soon as my sister got married and stopped coming over for dinner my parents stopped wanting to eat at the table.. since it was just me and them. It disappointed and depressed the hell out of me. </3

Aw -hug- I know that pain. After my dad left my family could care less about appearing to be a family. Sitting together at the dinner table was the only time when I felt part of a family, or comfortable as if I was at home.

I tend to avoid family meals unless there's another relative over, an important event (like Christmas) or we're out somewhere or away. lol. I usually eat in my room, or fix myself with something later.

It's not because I'm anxious of my family, just don't really like being around them too much. Meh.

Depends on what time of day it is. My boyfriend works the graveyard shift, and when he gets home in the morning, we usually eat breakfast together. He sleeps all day so he can be rested for work at night, and when I wake him up in the evening, we'll usually eat together then. But in the middle part of the day (say, lunchtime), I eat by myself.

Wow, that information was useless. Sorry.

With my roommates? Not for a couple years. I had a roommate some years ago that I got along great with though.

When I visit family I eat with them.

We generally have dinner whereever we feel like. I take mine into the living room so I can watch tv, so does my brother. No one really cares.

I eat with my family almost everyday. They are the only people I've been around all my life. Where I spend most of my conversations with as well.
