i think the difference b/t me feeling alone and others feeling alone is that i actually try to interact with people like a community ie. post, do threads and help and talk and cheer people up and say nice things and PM people and be entertaining but a lot of the population here doesn't or i don't relate to them or they have a lot of issues they don't have time for others really. I'm trying to be clear and not offend others

I do feel lonely at times. I'm the kind of person who tends to procrastinate a lot so I try my best not to put my own burden onto to others.

I have never ascribed the word "fault" to feeling lonely.

I guess someone can be an absolute A-hole and feel alone like my ex but then he deserves it. ha. No matter how hard he tries no one wants to be his friend. Sad.

When I rarely, maybe a few times a yr., feel alone I feel like it's the weakest thing I could ever be/feel and I am so happy when the feeling passes bc I refuse to rely on others for my personal sense of well-being. Relying on people has ALWAYS let me down and been a complete waste of my time and emotion,
People s-u-c-k period. I would much rather be alone 90% of the time

I wouldn't say ALL people suck, as you can have some good/close friends who never let you down, but i think MOST people suck, from one's own perspective. That is, unless they're good friends to you, they probably suck.

^ Do you feel more lonely here than in the concrete world?

^ I was just asking because if you feel lonely here but have support in the real world, it doesn't seem so bad. This forum gets deserted sometimes. I guess it's not really a bad thing: If it's boring here, then we have to go "out there" ...

Same as Molly, usually people want to be around others and be Alone from time to time, in my case is the opposite: i want to be alone 90% of the time but there's always that day when i could use some company, but those moments are so rare that barely matter anymore.

Lily, isnt there Any other forum like this one where you can find more people struggling with similar problems so you dont have to rely entirely on this one in order to interact with others. That way you could check both sites.

I don't understand why you would want to be alone 90% of the time. why? i guess it's your insecurity that you feel like being alone, not that you really like to be alone.

Not really, that insecurity is what makes me be alone in that 10%.

I find interaction with other people stressful, tiresome and drains me a lot, it's like exercising, it's good but in small doses, not something i would do the whole day.

Btw those % are exaggerations, don't take them as real statistics xD

Exactly!

Draining and tiresome, leaving me feeling worse for the experience.

**Not everyone is a social being. That is false to believe that. That's like saying everyone is anything, all men are this all women are that- blanket statements about humans are always incorrect and harmful imo

I see.. i thought it was emotionally draining b/c of insecurities but i guess not. I'm innately a social being then. i thought we were all social beings and that's how we were created. i like to be in company 90% of the time and be alone only 10% but other times it's the other way around or other percentage ratio.

I don't think everyone sucks. there are good things/qualities about people and the bad.

The only time I am totally calm is when I am alone in my own home. Going out in the world and dealing with people tires me out. I decided calm and alone is healthier than stressed with people.

I feel the same way. But I also get bored by it because I have this sense of adventure as well but anxiety usually sucks all of the fun out of it.
