Do guys like girls for non-look associated reasons?

I am wondering because it makes me feel strange when a guy likes me after a few days of barely knowing me.

Is there such a thing as a relationship where you can just be best friends? I mean having a lover is great but i dont care about being with anyone unless we can be best friends.

My interests are pretty much the same as most peoples. I mean i like film and books and being outside.

I dont know what im doing wrong basically why do guys treat you differently even though you like the same standard stuff........ what i mean is how do i come off easy to talk to. should i stop wearing make-up ?

i want to run away when guys aren't genuine or they try too hard it stresses me out.

Maybe if i gain a few pounds and stop trying to look good people will ease up around me??

I know it sounds crazy but hey maybe its just crazy enough to work?

I'm not sure how old you are....but lots of guys are just after sex. And will do whatever it takes to get it....being nice to you, getting you things, saying they like you, etc.

But there are some guys who really do like you for you...and it can be in a very short period of time. My hubby knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me after 1 week of dating.

By this I mean from a genuine sincere guy to just one that wants

Just wait is all you can do. If the dude is pressuring you to go to the next level and you tell him no, see if he'll except that or move on. But a lot of ladies break under the pressure and get used.

I don't want to find a girlfriend that is just beautiful... I have to like her personality and interests too. Like, we must be each other's best friends, so I understand perfectly what you mean.
But I am aware I'm not like most guys. Unfortunately most guys don't look for best friends, they just look for someone to be with... and they are only really picky about looks, not personality.

could nt agree more !! of course id have to be someway attracted to her, but personality plays a big part !! get to know them 1st , then take it from there !

i dont think i entirely understand the post, but... i know whether im going to get along with a person within thirty seconds of meeting them whether they're male, female or somethin undecided. a lot of people are like that, so it could definately be genuine "liking" even if its within a few days.

Of course they do. For me anyway...what gets you interested in the 1st place is the looks. It's no wonder girls spend a lot of time on their looks and even guys these days. Stressing and worrying won't help in this situation.

there has got to be chemistry, sarcasm, fun and humour and a wanting to be around each other before looks come into play. i mean its interesting how when you make friends with someone you dont really focus on their looks at all.

Guys can like girls for any reason, but a lot of the times it's visual/physical which leads to emotional.

Stop complaining that guys are hitting on you! Learn how to politely shoot them down and focus on what a good man's qualities are so you can attract guys whom you want to get close to.

Hey what are looks without character? Im a guy and i am horny but i know my limits with a lady and i dont cross the line... & no i wouldn't want to chase a girl like a retard for sex...
Id rather have it with the right person instead of jumping from one chick to another...Cuz that would make me feel small, silly, stupid and fill my head with worries i dont really need and probably problems i dont want from the 1st place...
All my life ive been chasing those sexy girls that are older than me even though i felt i will never get any of them...
Nowadays i look at the full package. i actually now believe that the only right thing to do in life is to chose 1 girl to spend the rest of my life with her instead of this general belief that you should try dating as many chicks as you can to experience and understand relationships... I feel those people will never have a sense of commitment... and i personally got chances to get in a relationships with several girls but I turned them down cuz i didnt like their mentality or character..

Just be yourself, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to look good, if that’s something that you enjoy doing then do it. Wearing makeup or not may not waver on how they feel about you. In my personal opinions, guys usually prefer girls that don’t wear make- up. If they happen to be interested in you more then you want them to be just tell them you’re just looking to be just friends right now and if their intentions a genuine they will accept that, if not you can move on.
