I met my girlfriend online and that was about 10K kilometers away. But the world is so small so it is only 12 hours of flying. I dont mind it. Sometimes you have to take some chances and this did go out very well.

It doesnt make you a cold hearted bastard if you dont want to travel that far for one. That is your decision, and I am quite sure it is only you who knows best how you will live your life

Its fine to look at it like that, just try to minimize the gamble by building up the relationship over a long period of time. I tend to think life is about taking chances, and its worth taking the chance to make myself happy since I'd hate to look back on missed oportunities later in life with regrets.
