" I had social anxiety as a teenager. I wouldn't go up to a buffet by myself because people might "look" at me. Wouldn't go to public bathrooms alone. I wouldn't even pump my own gas. I'd rather run out of gas in the middle of a desert than pump my own gas. Then I saw a therapist and she gave me a task. Wear a band aid somewhere people can see it and go out in public to see how it feels. I didn't try it until later on. In my rendition I put a big sticker on my forehead and walked around. It was exciting because I KNEW what people would be thinking and I KNEW people would be looking at me. And you know what? Everybody looked ad smiled at me and nobody even told me I had a sticker on my forehead. haha. It was sooo hard not to laugh."

I think it actually could desensitize the person...Ill maybe try it. :D

That sounds awesome. I imagine it'd be one of those big yellow smiley face stickers. Or maybe a kitty sticker for me. Try it and let us know how it goes!

Haha. That's a funny idea. Sometimes I wonder why people are looking at me and smiling, then I remember that I'm wearing one of my funny looking hats with a dragon face or cat ears or something. It wasn't always easy to wear them at first, but now it just feels normal to me. (though I still get self-conscious about it at times!)

I'm okay with petty things like people looking at me. What I'm not okay with is talking to people with the intention of small talk or trying to make friends.

This made me laugh. Sounds fun in theory but I don't know if I could actually pull it off.

I did however wear knee high Halloween sucks to school on Halloween. I thought for sure that people would say something about then or whisper about them but no one did. Slowly learning that no one really cares that much.

That sounds like a good idea! I'd be worried about people asking me about the sticker, maybe someday I may try it.

People don´t care about you, until you tell them.. it´s mostly just in your head so it should be sorted inside it, not outside :D.
