other than my home, my second home is the gym. i've worked out pretty hard there for around 2 and a half years, i joined on my 16th birthday. it's a comfort zone for me (agoraphobia sufferer). i've met tonnes of good people there and have loads of friends every time i go in, in the evenings.
as a guy thats keenly into fitness, i know it's so much easier said than done, but try not to worry. people at the gym aren't interested in what kind of shape you're in. they won't judge you, people who embrase the lifestyle i do are much more keen about getting people to join our lifestyle. whether it be bodybuilding, weight loss, etc. we'd much rather have you onboard and with us, trust me, this is 95% of people i know. tonnes of them would love the opportunity to help others.
i'm one of these people, although i'm only 18 i've very knowledgable in this field, i'd love the chance to help anybody out with regards to fitness questions, so feel free to message me or ask in this thread
.
one step at a time... maybe go for 20 minutes one day, then go again for another 20 minutes, maybe up it to 30 and see how you feel. if you don't want to talk to people that's fair enough, it's a place where a lot of people don't like socialising, they go there to work out. people respect those who work hard, just bring an ipod and you won't be disturbed.
hope i maybe helped in some way as to how the average gym go-er thinks. if you're female and a few people look at you, there's a very strong chance they find you attractive :
: after all, i'd love to find a nice girl that's into fitness, it's a huge turn on
