Who is your favorite author and why?

I was inspired to write this by a research project on Ray Bradbury. In my opinion, the man is amazing. His passion for books, writing, and social psychology mirrors my own.

What writer inspires you? Or you just enjoy reading?

Leo Tolstoy is my favorite author. He is able to build up magnificent stories and discuss many themes without fragmenting his work. I like the pre-existentialist aspect of his writing as it addresses the most fundamental questions in human life.

If I had to pick just one, I would go with Bill Bryson. His travelogues are awesome. Or maybe David Sedaris. And of course there is JK Rowling. See, I can't pick just one!

Yeah I can't pick just one either. J.K. Rowling and Khaled Hosseini are probably my top 2 though.

not actually Fiona Apple
Hmmm, I don't know, I think I'd have to go with Jane Austen. I don't read nearly as much as I'd like to, but I do like all the books I've read by her. And whenever I read her it reminds of this girl I went to High school with who also liked her...::eek::.

Can't give you just one, but my top would be Douglas Adams (duh)

In no particular order, I must mention also Michael Crichton, Aldous Huxley, Carl Sagan, German Castro Caycedo (a Colombian journalist) and Alan Grant (comic book writer, they should count, too).

I used to like Stephen King, books like It, but not so much anymore.
