What really scares me...

..is the passage of time. I don't mean to sound like a pseudo intellectual or anything, but time scares me more than anything. Here it is nearly 1/4th of the way through the year that just recently was "new" and I'm still working this crummy job which might not exist come summertime. I'll be 21 in June, and still live with my Mom, with no friends outside of work, no education past High School, and, to top it off, I'm still a virgin. You may be asking why I don't just get off my duff and change my life. I want to very badly, but the part of my mind that shies away from everything is the dominant part of my mind, always has. And I forgot to mention, every year that comes will seem quicker than the last one. What a joke!

When I look back, I realize how much time has passed by since i graduated high school. All my classmates and friends have jobs while I'm still in school. Now I try not to care anymore. I want to live life at my pace.

i know the feel. but you're still young at 21 and have lots of time to get things going how you'd like. someone told me i needed to learn to push my brain aside. ignore when your mind wants you to indulge in negativity and avoidance. hard to do, i know.

That's a good way to look at it. I'm in my early 40s and, oh boy, am I behind as far as society is concerned. It takes all my willpower but I try not to let it get to me. Some days it does get to me and I just break down, but you are right, we should all be able to live at our own pace. It just takes me time in life and certain things just weren't in the cards. I tried...

Time passes very fast, and passes faster the older we get. The best we can do is enjoy the time we do have.
