I just accidentally killed a lizard when I was trimming the currents

: /

I accidentally killed a lizard the other day and I felt pretty devastated about it. My dog was sniffing in the corner by the door. It was in the area by the hinges where it closes. I was like, oooh what are you sniffing! hehe! and then I bent down and saw it was a lizard that had been squished between the door and the wall.

Pretty depressing.

I accidentally killed a lizard when I was six. I was bouncing a big rubber ball and the lizard ran under and got squished.

I cried for an hour.

I'm never going to forget him, poor little guy. What if he had kids?

WHAT IF HE HAD KIDS?

:confused: :eek: ::(:

Aww... poor lizard ::(:
It's kind of funny actually... I used to catch and kill lizards all the time when I was little and now I'm one of the biggest reptile lovers ever. Then again, I was just a wicked and disturbed little girl ::p:

oh, they're there

you just can't see them

but they can see you

As if I weren't paranoid enough, now I have to watch out for creeper lizards.

but hose who break indoors are usually the smaller kind, very vulnerable and easy to smash. but i only ended up with their moving tails. no killing :p

Are you referring to geckos? They can actually drop their tails as a defense mechanism. I think they're cute, but I only see them when I'm in Brazil. They're not around where I live.

Re: Share-a-Lizard Day

I once trod on something that a bluetongue lizard was hiding under and it squeeked. These are mostly harmless but do look like a snake at first glance.

Skinks can drop their tails and regrow them

:]

I did not know that skinks regrow their tails. Most geckos do, too. I used to work at a pet store, and the first time I went to grab a leopard gecko, he freaked and started to run and I grabbed his tail and then I freaked. It kept moving for about 5-10 minutes. I felt so bad for the little guy. Reptile tails where my least favorite part of the job. I got whipped in the face by an angry iguana tail once. Those things are sharp!

I'm going to clean and make dinner.

Nathaniel - that is a gorgeous lizard.

Here's a giant ass leopard gecko that I found crawling around the store. When I originally picked him up, he bit me and wouldn't let go. Then he peed on me.

And a tiny ball python chillaxing in some water. They are really very sweet, at least when they are small.

Nice reptile pics guys! They just reminded me of Fatal Attractions (Animal Planet show in the States). I'm sort of obsessed with it. Anyone else watch it?

A predator in action! That's always hard to capture! Nice.

i wonder if i am the only one who finds their fingers oddly adorable
No, you're not. :D

My fingers are a bit yellow-stained from the work gloves. Sorry they look gross. This is a tree lizard (Urosaurus ornatus).

What a cutie! Except the part about him peeing on you of course, hehe ::p:

I own a Leo. They are one of the best pets you could ever get. Love her to death <3

Here she is, chilling on the couch:

Her name is Eris. Name suits her very well - she caused me quite a lot of chaos when she was a juvenile ::p:
