The point

- I can’t have a job that I don’t hate.
- I can’t have self-confidence.
- I can’t not suffer from anxiety.
- I can’t breathe properly.
- I can’t not be afraid.
- I can’t live by myself.
- I can’t drive.
- I can’t have sex.
- I can’t not hate my face.
- I can’t not hate my body.
- I can’t not hate my clothes.
- I can’t not feel stared at by people.
- I can’t not feel laughed at by people.
- I can’t walk around without being tense.
- I can’t not look down when crossing someone.
- I can’t not look away when talking to someone.
- I can’t not feign my feelings when talking to someone.
- I can’t not compare myself to others.
- I can’t not envy those who I’d like to be like.
- I can’t understand why most people enjoy their lives.
- I can’t live a mediocre life and just be content with it.
- I can’t wake up in the morning and not wish that I hadn’t.
- I can have none of the things that I’d like to have in my life.

* What’s the point, then?

What things can you do? Maybe you could list them too?

Also you could always give up on the idea of being happy, and instead just live to serve others, I've contemplated this in my darkest hours.

Who says you can't?

You have to tackle your challenges one at a time and at your own pace. I agree with Froggy that you should think about all the things that you can do or have done.

(Yeah the picture is kind of corny, but it helps me put things into perspective when I'm feeling hopeless)

I've been living like this for the last 15 years of my life. It's awful and doesn't really help at all. I guess I'm too selfish for that.

My limitations do. You don't think anyone can do/be anything, do you?

What if you don't even know what your challenges are or should be? What if your goals are unachievable?

Ah already dae that, Froggy.... And it'sf**kin'shite!

Yea to be honest I've not actually tried living like that myself, so your both more selfless than I am, it just helps me to contemplate it when I'm feeling hopeless, it takes the pressure off feeling like there's no point....to take my 'self' out of the equation so to speak and just be.

Anyways, reading back on that list a lot of it relates to thoughts, it might help to consider that most of our thoughts are not our own, kind of like a computer programme that's received corrupted data. In many of those can'ts you're probably right, I can't not do most of them either, you can't stop thoughts popping up it's not your fault. The trick I suppose is not to claim them as your own, look at them objectively, as if they are apart from you and don't take them too seriously.
Mindfulness I guess, easier said than done, not the ego's idea of fun, but it makes a big difference with me.
