Family is the damn worst. For them to say something like that is not only crude but damn mean and reflects more upon their own insecurities than yours. If you are self conscious about your looks try online dating. Sometimes just emailing somebody is enough to boost your confidence and form a relationship. Yes, women can be very superficial, but not all of them especially if you can connect on a personal level they will not care at all how you look. My only advice is just to try. If you don't put your self out there for disappointment you'll never get anything good either. Every rejection is a learning experience.

Get some money, make it obvious you are rich. That negates the 'ugly' factor.
Look how many unattractive guys you see around with pretty girls. How do they usually get them?
Money. And forgetting they are ugly, and actually acting like they are not - confidence.
Nothing kills off a girls interest faster than a guy who isn't confident in himself.

I've been told that girls aren't usually interested in money, though.

People like that, with no filter, usually have no eye for beauty in the first place. They are usually only attracted to other loud, obnoxious, rude people. That is probably why you are not attractive in her (NULL) opinion.

Or maybe you're making a generalization with no solid basis. Sure people like the idea of having someone whose gorgeous and rich (note: people, not solely women). But there are many people who would be repelled by someone whose personality they clashed with regardless of how wealthy or gorgeous they were.

Im not denying that there are gold diggers out there (Of all genders), but they arent the norm.

Hi

I was at the shopping mall, and met my aunt there. It was nice to see her again, because I have not seen here for a while and I think we have a pretty good relationship. She and her daughter has been on vacation in a Paris a few weeks ago. I made a joke that she could find a french girl to me and take home to Norway. That's how the girl talk started. So then she told me, right to me face that I am not attractive to girls at all. I got pretty shocked because I had never expect her to say something like that to me. And this was in the shopping mall with people around us everywhere. She didnt even made it sound like a joke, she was actually serious.

So that means my thoughts are true. I'm ugly as hell and all girls hate me. I'm glad I have an appointment with my psychologist on monday. I want to tell her what happen. She use to say it's only thoughts and not the truth. But I am not so sure about that. I hate the way I look and can't do anything about it. I clean everyday, I use skincare and do my best to stay clean and smell good. That's all I can do. I do exercise and I am not fat. But I have isues due to my skinproblems.

Relationships rely and positive and negative attributes. Looks is merely one of those attributes.

So even if you were to be ugly, it needn't mean that you're inherently unattractive, because despite very frustratingly being almost exclusively referred to as the same thing, they are two very different things.

I'd also like to note that individual opinions don't represent groups of people, and you should definitely not let it confirm your insecurities. Unless you get frequent verbal confirmation of it, assume your insecurities to be untrue.

To be put down like that from anyone is hurtful enough, but a family member is just awful. It's a destructive thing to say to anyone and I know it happens but it doesn't make it right. Hopefully talking through it will make you feel better.
