most black families dont believe in anxiety disorders.. they just think your either crazy or making it up. believe me I know.. my moms side of the family tried to beat the anxiety outta me...*shudders*

aw its okay.. now I just have lots of stories to tell.. lol

my dads side of the family had some.. unique remedies for my anixety... bless them for beliveing in me though.

That's so true. Many of them think it's something that doesn't exist or they'll say "Oh well black people don't have SA." That really gets me angry, because that make it just as hard for other blacks to seek help. The whole social anxiety, mental disorders whether it be ADD or anything esle is taboo in the black community and those who have it are forced to hide it.

yes exactly!! when i told my mom's side of the family. THEY LAUGHED! I was so broken up about it...smh

Woah they laughed? That's sad to hear. They should be more supportive. I guess they think since SA didn't exist back in their days (which it did) It's fake or made up... idk >.<

Kentucky eh? That's one of the places I couldn't imagine a shy person being from. Also, is that Billy Mays in your avatar?

Haha well Louisville's like the Quebec of Kentucky. And yes that'd be Billy Mays. If he'd be President, he could scream at us and make us buy into anything.
