Remembering to stay positive

Yeah, I'm excited to see the new Hobbit movies. I heard that Mr. Peter Jackson won't be directing them, though. :( Hopefully they will be watchable. Still, something to look forward to, indeed.

I've cried a bit from those movies and books, as well. They are very good. I feel like such a nerd because I don't know anyone that loves LOTR as much as I do, haha. I even have a few replica weapons that I bought from eBay.

Anyway, sorry for the change of topic.

No way! I thought I was the only LOTR junkie! I have watched the movies so many times that I seriously have most of the lines memorized... Can't get enough of it.... When I don't have anything going on, I will play all three DVD extended versions back to back... And when it's done, I want MORE!!! I am an LOTR addict.

I hear ya! I think they're wonderful. Have you read the books?

No, not yet... But I will eventually. I was talking to a friend of mine that did read them, and he told me that it is very difficult to follow because Tolkien, stops the story often to define language, or people and races within Middle Earth... That man was a genius to be able to create all the languages and all the different writing styles. Just amazing. He was a linguist, from what I know of him... He also worked on the singular book LOTR for over 10 years??? I think... Funny he wanted it to be just ONE book! But the publisher insisted that he breaks it down to three... LOL I got a kick out of that... I wanted to buy all the swords, but I don't have the funds for it...

The books are great, but your friend was right - they can be a bit confusing. You get the hang of it after the first book, haha.

He was an amazing writer, yes. No arguing that! Just a brilliant mind. I read somewhere that he worked on those books for 12 years. But whether it was 10 or 12, that's still a long time.

I don't have all of the weapons that I'd like have, unfortunately. Money is definitely an issue. I have Sting, though. And Gandalf's sword (its name slips my mind!). I'd LOVE to have Strider's sword...and Gimli's axe!

I could go on and on, lol.

"Glamdring" I believe...

Isn't it odd, that Strider has two names? Aragorn is his real name, but strider must be a nickname for when he was a Ranger?

I would love to have all of them, maybe someday... I too could go on and on... I usually bore people to death with LOTR or Titanic trivia...

Glamdring! Yes. You are correct. Well, of course you are, haha.

Yeah, I always found it odd that he had two names. I think it's his semi-anonymous Ranger name. Or something.

I think I bore people with this type of stuff, too. I'm glad I'm not the only LOTR fan here. :)

Ah, Titanic is also a good one.

We will all die one day, and our troubles will die with us, so we don't have to worry about them.
