Question & Answer

I think the reason people, or at least I, watch horror movies is to scare ourselves, get excited, our adrenaline pumping, in a safe, secure way.

And a good horror is a mix of making you say "trhat shadow just moved.... why did it move?!", "what did he mean when he said ___" and "oh my god look at all the blood!".

That sort of horror

Any of the Saw movies scare the hell out of me. Also, Joy Ride kept me on the edge of my seat. In fact, I watched Joy Ride on Christmas Eve, and I was scared to go downstairs to put my daughters presents under the Christmas tree. (Sorry to those of you who still believe in Santa.)

Thank you, and  Santa isn't real? and  you have a daughter? And  I use this emoticon this often?!

Okay so, I bought okra today because 1) I've never had it; 2) I wanted to try something new; and 3) It was cheap. So.... what do I do with it? I've only ever heard of breading it and frying it, but I'd just like other suggestions.

fry it. It is slimy basically any other way.

and trust me fried okra is delicious:D

I wish Santa was real. Why are you surprised that I have a daughter? Is it the things that I write, lol. I didn't let motherhood take away who I am and the things that I enjoy....you won't catch this mom driving a minivan!

We need more emoticon's here!

What's your favorite horror movie?

You just seem way too young to be a mother :D

More emoticons? Hell yeah! (you can tell when I'm really enthusiastic about something, I say stupid things like "hell yeah")

My favourite horror movie? Has to be Dawn of the Dead, I don't really find horrors scary, although I haven't seen them all lol, so I don't really judge on scares. Dawn of the Dead is amazing though..... Or 28 Days later.

Grr, why did you ask such a hard question?

@ phocas: I've heard of gumbo, but never made it. Sounds good though!

@ vex: Okay, I think I will fry it. It sounds good that way too. Thanks guys!

And now for my other question, but I'm doubting anyone will have any answers for me: How do I pursue a conversation with my roommate?

Okay, well I recently messaged my new roommate on Facebook about a week ago just saying something along the lines of, "Hey I'm your new roommate." She had responded, wondering how I found out, so of course I told her. I tried to keep the conversation alive, so I asked her what her schedule was like and what she was taking as a major. I thought it was going pretty well, small talk, but still good. She told me what she was taking and I had messaged her back that we had basically the same schedule and we're both taking the same major.

That was 4 days ago, and she's just left me hanging. I'm afraid she thinks I'm weird or something and she doesn't even want to talk to me. She does get on Facebook pretty often, but she hasn't really been going out of her way to message. Maybe I'm just expecting too much? She doesn't seem like a shy person at all... I was thinking about sending her another message, thus the question, but I really don't know what to do.

What was the last interaction between the two of you? (IE, last message sent, what was in it and by whom was it sent)

@Basil I think horror films are made to.... I don't know how to put it into words. Scare you, horrify you, etc, etc. Zombie flicks do that. I don't think a horror film is made good by the most gore or the most out there thing you can do, it's about making you scared.

Hmm idk some people don't end a conversation through messaging, they just don't respond when they can't think of anything else to say.

I would just ignore it, and start again when you actually meet.:)

^ What's bolded is what I had sent back 4 days ago and I haven't heard from her since.

^ I see what you're saying. I'm sometimes like that too, but I would never let a person that I just met hanging on a message like that. Even it's a small simple reply, I always reply back because I feel that if I don't, the other person may take it that I'm ignoring them. Exactly how I'm taking this situation. But I really just wanted to get to know her a little better just so it's not so awkward on the first day.

Hm idk maybe she somehow got a bad impression. I would just pretend like it never happened when you meet her, otherwise it might be more awkward.

Anyway, all the best. I'm sure once yall get to know each other, you will get along fine.
