Yes it was a 10 second exposure Greybeard Ghost. I used a ND grad filter to keep some colour in the sky.

He's one of my favourite photographers on that site, NWP, another is Stefano Ronchi.

The camera costs about $3500 Aus. It's the same camera I have. The lens might be much more expensive than that.
The top end zoom lenses f 2.8 500-600mm lenses are worth $20,000 plus.

Lots of photographers own expensive gear, not many can take photos as good as these guys. They make wildlife photography look easy, it isn't.
The Egret photo was taken using a Canon 30d, that is valued at about $500 AUS.

Oh I know. Wildlife is my favorite sort. I'm painfully aware of the limits of my Canon S5 IS.
