Look @ my MRI and tell me what you think?

This is an interesting thread.

It looks fine to me. Tell us what we're supposed to see!
This isn't a quiz. You see what you allow yourself to see! A butterfly, a turkey sandwich, a global conspiracy to ensalve mankind. Use your imagination! DISCLAIMER: I don't really believe in conspiracies, that was just an example.

Yep

The brainstem & entire spinal cord is involved. I had lumbar punctures when I was little, because all my problems were rooted in a bad immune system and thrombocytopaenia. I got my spleen removed before age 30 because my wise neurologist suggested I might suffer deafness or blindness after some epilepsy and brain haemorrhage due to low platelets. It's nasty having a childhood of major bleeding (eg. nose) and bruising; there's no way to form a clot

I'd like to know the reason for your MRI. I thought it's entirely physical. No idea MRI can be to do with anything mental

The white area surrounds the head and down the spine. My main problems have been bleeding in the liquid between the brain and the skull bone. The scan layers are shown from the top to centre of the brain.

I'm sorry you've been having such a tough time. It's no fun living with chronic illness. I had the MRI done because of persistent pressure headaches and a major headache episode when I was 20 (just like Aubrey Plaza). It's a crap shoot with some doctor's. It's always good to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion.

is there really anything wrong with your brain, said the doctors, or are you just wanting to see people's creativity.

Both! This is like pictionary but with no rules and just 3 pictures. You can treat it as a Rorschach ink blot test: "I see Jesus!"; or just riff on how I look like uncle Fester... I don't really care! You could also, pretend like your on "House" and make believe your a panel of diagnosticians. Since it's make believe, there are no REAL consequences to being wrong (or right). I will let you guys know the whole story soon, but I just want to first comment on a couple of statements that I find interesting.
1) If you are experiencing pain discomfort unhappiness for whatever reason, you do not need a doctor to qualify that you are in fact experiencing these things. If you are not feeling right and are seeking medical attention, that's all the qualification you need that you have an illness.
2) Experts have been known to be wrong! Anyone who's had a botched repair job of their car knows what I'm talking about. Human beings, fallible creatures that we are, in any line of work (doctors are no exception), are susceptible to failure. They will not tell you this in fear of hurting their professional credibility, but they do make mistakes. Sometimes frequently! They are not gods!
3) Granted, it certainly helps to have a background in medicine: i.e. a medical degree; an understanding of anatomy, pathology, and all the terminology that goes along with it, but the truth is, all humans are equipped with the most important tools necessary to be diagnosticians: curiosity and imagination. You may not know the terminology or even have basic understanding of what some of the parts do, but you can probably, at least, identify when something looks out of place: “one thing doesn't look like the other” or “the emperor and his cloths”... Any discipline, once you dive into it, reveals itself to be conceptually simpler than when you initially set eyes on it. You just have to dig through the BS... And trust me, there is more BS floating around than you realize... Think outside the box. It may save your life.
4) I created this thread fully knowing I was not going to get professional consultation, so please don't tell me you’re not a doctor or a radiologist. If I wanted a professional’s opinion, I wouldn't have created this thread! It's a moot point.

I see a brain eating parasite. Nobody caught that?!

Or two birds holding wings.

The turkey is an easy one.

A lake with tons of little streams.

or perhaps your brain has a mouth, an eye, and a leg.

And one of the butterflies in your stomach escaped to your brain!

Nothing is wrong?

I don't know. This is just making me thing of 'don't judge a book by its cover', so you're saying something is wrong with you but it doesn't show or something?

Okay, well I thought there was something structurally wrong with your brain and we were supposed to try to see what it is :idontknow: Not that I want there to be something wrong with your brain, haha.

Heyyyy, you live south of Boston? I live north of Boston ;) I didn't realize there were so many Massachusetts-dwellers on here. I'm surrounded!

Opaline, why are you using the past tense "thought" and "was." You can continue "thinking" that there "is" something structural wrong with my brain. It is still possible and perhaps highly probable. As far as I can tell, no one has presented a valid argument one way or the other. Keep thinking guys!

I see a heavy brow and frontal lobe chopped off, possible distortion from the equipment? Maybe try a CT scan as it sometimes shows up what the MRI misses.

the space where your brow is. looks like some brain got cut off o_0
and the dark whispyish region in the center of your brain in the profile view

the frontal lobe? idk what?

Actually I was thinking the same thing. It's like there's a couple of gaps that need filling in.

Plus if I cross my eyes while looking I can see a pony.

I agree with the above responses. In my humble opinion, you are astutely observant guys!

...Except for one slight difference: I don't think anything is missing, just displaced or "smooshed" flat. If I were missing parts of my frontal lobe, I probably wouldn't be typing this right now and I would probably be in a mental ward... Sometimes I feel like I should be though!!

I do have a caveman brow, agreed. I also agree that there is an anomaly in the area of my prefrontal cortex. It lacks the smooth contour you typically see in biology. In other words, I think everyone would agree that it is not normal for someone to be born with a faceted brain! What I disagree with is the equipment malfunction theory. The MRI was done in all directions Axial, Sagittal, Coronal; and it was also done with a radioactive tracer to identify Hot spots where there is increased blood flow, which is usually due to inflamation. That flat anomaly shows up on all scans. You can also see the white "hot spot" at the very front of the smaller image which indicates increased blood perfusion compared to the surrounding area... It's very unlikley that it's caused by the equipment. They were thorough and literaly looked at my brain from all angles.

I liken myself to a flat-faced breed of dog like a pug. Its hard to tell with just the four slices, but my facial structure looks like it has been flattened. I have crowded, overlapping teeth, the roots of my teeth are curved backward; difficulty breathing through my nose and of course that constant pressure sensation behind the eyes and behind my forehead. I use to think it was tension headache or frequent sinus infections but it never goes away... You're probably thinking: why is he posting threads here instead of a severe headache forum?" Well, it's because I have severe SA and believe I should be diagnosed with Autism. When I was a kid I was extremely shy and reclusive. I used to rock back and forth and sit motionless on the couch for long periods of time. I stayed back in kindergarten because I would cry all the time... I was always described as being aloof and distant. etc....

I was also unsually smart when I was younger, then when puberty hit, things went south... There were other autistic things I did but I'm dilberately leaving them out.

I'm not sure if you showing your brain MRIs is going to prove that you have autism. Current research shows that bacteria in the guts of autistic children are different than bacteria in the guts of normal children. Maybe you should have your guts tested.

Your another one... Your making an assumption that I'm trying to do anything other than simply sharing my problems with people like myself. I'm not trying to do anything except for share my story. Is it against the law to express myself in this manner? Isn't this suppose to be for support and not to chastize people? I'm not exactly feeling the love sister.

Doesn't seem at all like anyone is chastising you, or even trying to. It's kind of like a bait and switch. You posted pictures of your brain, asking for people to come up with something wrong and then you turn the tables saying how it really has nothing to do with the brain whatsoever.

I understand it's a way for you to express your thoughts, and pretty unique I gotta say, but you can't justifiably get all defensive when people are confused.

EDIT: And I'm not trying to attack you. Don't take this the wrong way.

I'm as ok as I can be. There is an advantage to being emotional muted. I'm not emotional volatile and will likely not ever hurt myself. Thank you for your concern Atrus. I still feel isolated, but I hope one day that will pass.
