It's late but I'm in the mood to watch an anime movie! :D

Why would you use streams?

External harddrives are pretty cheap nowadays. It'll get you a long way.

I tend to prefer torrents too. There aren't any region restrictions and you get immense freedom with the files you download. There's no DRM nonsense you get on other digital media stores (such as iTunes or Netflix).

Heck, there have been many cases where I've bought something on iTunes or else where and then downloaded it via torrent for the better files. Plus, since it's all on a local hard drive, you can use them if your internet ever bombs for a few days.

Unless you're on a 6 year old laptop that was already very weak by the time it came out, it shouldn't be a problem

Until August... Yeah, I was on one of those.

Third world, man.

Although movies I really did wanted to watch on my TV, I downloaded and burned them on a DVD.

Of course, technology has gotten much better, but I'm still sure there's people who'd rather stream due any kind of limitation.

My current computer is six years old and it was cheaper than my laptop that I bought around the same time. While the laptop barely works (it's just too slow, takes 20 minutes to turn on), the computer works perfectly fine for this. I have many stored shows in it, but I bought an external hard drive (500GB) for 50€ to keep more shows there.

I guess if you're only watching stuff occasionally it doesn't matter, but if it's something you do more often 50€ is a good investment. Hell, even a 4gb pen will do.

Btw, 2nd world country here. Never had a job, all my money comes from allowances and gifts. Bought the computer and the hard drive with my own money.

Fair enough. I'm unemployed too. ;_; I made little "allowances" by working as dad assistant whenever he needs it. 8 months of savings I finally bought me a wacom tablet... My current laptop was a birthday gift. So I know that feel.

I bought a 1TB hard drive. I was saving money for a Wii, after a year of savings and I... wasn't close. But I happened to be on the US at the time, in black friday and bought the Hard Drive since I had won the Wii on a raffle a month earlier (Woo!). I gave the HDD a... different usage, so it now works for something very specific... I regret nothing!

Still, I see what you mean, there's people from what I've read that like to keep the series they liked on a storage medium like the HDD.

I keep the ones I liked but the HDD is mostly for the ones I want to see in the future, I download them now since some of them can be quite big in the best available quality, so it could take me a long time to download before watching. For the shows currently airing I just download the episode, watch it and then delete it.

I don't watch a lot of anime movies, though I've seen Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle both of which I liked. I'm more into anime series and live action dramas. I suggest you check those out.

I watched Spirited Away, have heard of Howl's Moving Castle. I really want to give it a watch one of these upcoming days. I heard it was a great movie! I'm into anything anime, so anime movies, anime series, manga. I will watch/read it all!

Ah, I loved Girl Who Leapt Through Time! If you're still watching anime movies I'd reccomend everything by Satoshi Kon, especially Paprika.

I don't watch a lot of movies (I prefer series because I only need 20 minutes to watch an episode), but I like most of the movies by Makoto Shinkai. My favourite by him (and also my favourite movie) is 5 centimeters per second. I also liked Garden of Words, it looks astonishingly beautiful. Story-wise it's not as good as 5cm per second, though I liked the final scene and soundtrack a lot.

Those two movies look pretty good, even getting names like "5 wallpapers per second" and "Garden of Wallpapers".

Anyway, here's a screenshot from Garden of Words.
