isolation, being stuck at home

Hello,

I want to hear from people who are also stuck at home. I don't go outside the house during the day because I don't have school or a job. I wonder if there are more people like me and why that is. Please feel free to write. I want to know if i am not the only one at home... it's misery.

A lot of people are stuck at home with no job or school. Called NEET (not in employment or education) or hikikomori if they don't leave house at all. What with unemployment rates, no wonder.

I highly recommend going for a walk each day, at least once! That's what I do, for health reasons. Walks help prevent depression, back problems etc. A friend of mine goes for 3-hour walks each day!

Nope you're not the only one, although I do work 2 days a week, otherwise I try as hard as I can on my day off to stay home... For some reason. It does suck, and ii'm still trying to figure out what it's giving me that I continue to do so. a job does help though... but it doesn't give you friends ;/

It's probably a good idea to take a hobby that will get you out, maybe a class?

Feathers is here!!

I've been stuck at home for most of the winter, so the last 3 months or so. My job is seasonal so I don't work during the winter. So then I don't have any money. I don't make much at my current job so I don't have a car of my own (I live with my parents).

My mom was laid off from her job and had to start working for a different company and is getting hardly any pay from it, so money has been scarce for the past 2 months or so. My parents live 11 miles from the nearest town of any significant size and 30-40 miles from the nearest city. Our cars are slowly breaking down and becoming increasingly unreliable. I'm stuck in a bad situation here and it could possibly get worse. My parents are going to have to sell their house before they lose it. So depending on how that goes, I will either end up living with them for awhile in the city, close to tons of places I can work at (probably without a car), or I could end up being homeless sooner than I want to.

But yeah, for now I am pennyless, without work, isolated from the world, stuck at home. It's been really starting to effect me this past month. I recently had to go to town for an appointment. It was nice. I just really want to get a better paying job/work more, save up as much as I can as quickly as I can, get a reliable car and some supplies, and hit the road. I love traveling by car.

I am NEET, but I do exercise everyday. I try to get at least 5 min walking on the treadmill. In addition, I'm dieting for good health. Sometimes I go out for sunshine and fresh air, at least 10 min.

I don't go out unless I have an agenda in mind, because going out means using the car and consuming gas. It's not like in Europe where shops and stores are close by, within a minute walk. I do go out from time to time to hang out with my friend. I am planning to volunteer more and perhaps join a club to better my communication skills. I will be attending job fairs and getting out to meet new people.

I'm what you would call a (somewhat) recovering hikikomori. I do leave the house if i really have to, without much of a problem.

unfortunately i can't leave for a walk since i live in a dangerous city, but if it was possible i definitely would do it. i enjoy walking a lot.

I'm 37. Since I was 24, 25 I haven't left the house more than two or three times a year. All thanks to severe social anxiety. Needless to say, you've gotta find a hobby. A creative outlet to vent out your frustrations, opinions, anger, etc. I endured it via the motto: create something or learn something every single day. That way it's not wasted time and you have something to show for it. Whether you're trapped in your house, or just an introvert that doesn't go out much, it's pretty good advice, in general.

Btw, best of luck to you. I hope you're able to figure your way through it.
