I don't know much about this sort of thing either but I sometimes wonder if they can bring out products which they claim have never been tested on animals then how much animal testing is really necessary and how much of it is just done just to keep down the costs of testing these products?
According to wikipedia,alternatives are
reliance on existing natural or synthetic ingredients, compounds and substances, which have already been extensively tested on animals;
avoiding novel ingredients or combinations of ingredients that have not been fully tested and may not be safe;
testing on human volunteers/clinical trials.
So I guess products that says it is not tested,uses a combination of chemicals that were tested before,also human testing is not really an option,if animal outrage is big,human would be much worse and yes we need drugs and similar, everyone who is not a lunatic can tell this,Anesthesia for surgery,vacine against rabbies,against venom and virus etc or should we let those people die?
