If someone offered you a million dollars

to promote a product/company, what would you choose?

Would you refuse to promote something some consider unethical, unhealthy or in bad taste?...example.....take away food, animal furs, a dubious finance company?

I'd be happy to promote a certain Japanese car-maker...because I've driven one for 10 years. I wouldn't promote a certain bank because I've been ripped off by them. I wouldn't promote unhealthy food like french fries because that is irresponsible. (still I wonder if I was really desperate for the money::p:)

I understand the importance of money in society. but I can't help but think its primarily used as a measurement of social status.

to me its just a means to an end. I have no desire to accumulate more than I need. so my principles would out weigh any amount of money.

though I understand not having money issues would probably significantly reduce ones anxiety.

but that's just me. I'm not desperate for money, (the term "comfortable" comes to mind) so it could just be situational.

I'd promote Social Anxiety Institutes X'''D or KLM flights or a great television show like L word or House

I was living in homeless shelters with my mother and siblings as young as 4 and 5 years old, so I'll promote damn near anything for a million. I'm independent and doing a lot better as an adult, but my instinct to survive and thrive still goes above any moral code I may have (not that I really have one).

It would lift you up the "human" ladder, it will make your voice more heard, more people willing to listen, more people willing to help, but it will not change anything to ones problems ultimately imho, except in a more uhm fake manner.

Thanks for your post. I may have the same outlook had I experienced a similar childhood to you.

Unethical would depend on how it sat with my own personal ethics. I wouldn't promote something that I personally found ethically or morally objectionable.

Unhealthy I wouldn't have a problem with, as long as I wasn't being asked to tell lies. So I'd be fine promoting french fries, as long as the makers weren't asking me to tell people they were healthy. Everyone knows they're unhealthy, but it's people's own choice whether to eat them, and their own personal responsibility to only do so in moderation.

I'd probably promote the bad taste stuff just to upset all the pompous, self-righteous people out there. The cash would just be an added bonus. ;)

I agree with Rembrant. I would be fine promoting something like french fries just so long as they didn't lie and say they were organic or something like that. I have morals and standards and will stand by them even if offered money. I hope. :D
I'm not so much against promoting a harmful product, I'm against promoting a harmful product that claims not to be. That kind of thing ticks me off. I hold the consumers responsible, they know the product is harmful, it's there choice to buy it. I don't feel bad endorsing something they understand is bad for them and purchase anyway. That's they're fully informed decision. What is there to feel bad about? I would much rather endorse something I know isn't bad for people, though. I would like to endorse something that is good for people and maybe help the world be little better of a place. Something that can make a difference to people in hard times. Make them smile, help improve there lives. That would be nice.
