do you hate it , dread it, i used to go to tescos at 1 o clock in the morning , just to avoid the crowds of people , and standing in a que for god knows how long , i used to go to bed at ten set my alarm for 12,30 , go to tescos at 1 o clock go home then go back to sleep again , but i only do a rather big shop once a week so it wasnt that bad :)

I hate shopping. I get really nervous and upset when there are a lot of people, but we don't have time to go any other time than the rush hours between seven and nine. I start to hyperventilate. And waiting in the checkout line is the worst! There are so many people packed so close together, and then the cashier always seems to feel the need to make small talk while they ring up the prices.

I've found that making a list helps, because I can run in and run out as quickly as I can. I also try to do smaller shopping trips throughout the week instead of one big one, that way I can get in and out quicker, rather than dealing with the crowds for an extended period of time. Plus, when I do that I can go through the express checkout lane, where there tends to be less people and the cashier seems less inclined to talk.

I dread it. I used to go very often with no problem... but I am afraid of the situation now. I don't know why.

I just went today, lol. I like it when I'm in the zone and not paying attention to people but there are times when I see someone who I feel is judging me or saying things about me maybe in their head. I've gotten a lot better about not thinking like this but sometimes I still find myself leaving an aisle or rack of things only to come back around when no one else is there.

I hate running into people I know while shopping. To solve this problem I just shop at stores FAR away from my home.

I dont like shopping by myself..Im okay if someone is with me. If I dont have someone to go with me then online shopping is the answer lol.

Depending on my mood, there are times where i would drive up to a store, circle around the parking lot and go back home.

Me too. Sometimes I think I can handle it and I'm all confident leaving home but then I start to have doubts in the car and when I get there I just can't get out and so I go home.

Yeah, I hate shopping and it can be worse if someone is with me because they usually want to stay long and look at stuff not there's anything wrong with that, it's just I have to run on a schedule in the shopping centre to get through the situation. ::eek::

Normally, I'm alright with the actual act of shopping, but it's the checking out that always freaks me out.
I have actually been in a store, had things in my hands that I wished to purchase, then loitered around the checkouts trying to build up the nerve to pay only to freak out and put everything back and go home again. Whenever possible, I go to stores with self-checkouts.

Yeah, I usually try and do the self-checkouts because it feels weird standing at the register. I am not sure where to focus my eyes and I am conscious of if they think I am staring at them or being rude because I am looking away.

If I'm buying something and I'm by myself, it's not a big deal because it's always a Point A to Point B, purchase X, return to Point A, in and out fast! If I'm with other people who want to look around, go other places, etc. then I'm miserable and start to feel like simply being there is invasive to my very being with all the people walking around, looking, talking, etc. while I feel simultaneously uncomfortable with the situation and indifferent towards the "shopping experience" of looking around at things. This usually results in me trying to find somewhere isolated where I can sit, or stand and stare blankly at something while my mind goes elsewhere.

Seems like there are more talkative cashiers in other countries. I don't remember EVER having to deal with a talkative cashier. Guess I'm lucky. But maybe you guys have younger cashiers there. Here it's mostly women in their 30-40s, possibly having midlife crisis who don't feel like talking :p

Sadly, places like Tesco have magnetic attraction to me. Because they are packed with all the "good" sugary stuff... But rationally I know it's no good, as we people are made to eat simple food. Supermarkets sell to much of tempting junk, and should be prohibited and closed !
