Fear=excitement?

We have the ability to have very exciting lives.

Anybody find this?

For instance just raising my hand in class gives me faster heart rate, shaky, etc. But when I'm in a good mood and feeling ok about myself (well that hasn't happened for about a year but still) it's almost a good feeling.

(Of course when i'm feeling bad about myself (which nowadays is the norm) it feels like hell...)

Thrill seekers would just ADORE being us!

Social anxiety fear is never a pleasant experience for me. I like the thrill of doing something physically dangerous.

For me, fear and excitement are the same in certain circumstances...like if you are meeting somebody for the first time...it can be really scary, but in a good way, if that makes sense..

But, in other situations, there is nothing exciting about fear at all :)

There is actually a lot of value in fear, and being afraid, but not when it has an overall negative impact on your life.

he he.. thrill seekers... How do you know a certain percentage of people with SA aren't thrill seekers? :D

fear=adrenaline=can be exciting (bungee jumping anyone? :D)

I sometimes have totally different responses in the same situations too..

After my mum told me the teacher didn't want the same people to answer questions all the time I kinda stopped raising my hand in class pretty much..

And YAY you started new classes?! :) GO YOU!!

Something similar happened to me during my Medical Core class earlier today. We had to do a roleplay (ugghh....) on defense mechanisms and I was so nervous about it that all that stress became what's called eustress (stress that is deemed healthful or giving one the feeling of fulfillment) and when me and my group went up I got excited through a burst of energy that suddenly surged through me and got very well into character and even made the class laugh several times. It's never happened to me before but I can't say I didn't enjoy it. I actually had fun doing it, somewhat :)
