and now-a-days am losing hope that I can do this alone.

Just have to say, (irrelevantly to the rest of the thread),
Speaking from my experience of the same feelings...
in no instance, in no moment can you not do it alone. Sometimes you'll have to help someone else help you, sometimes you'll have to ask for help, yes. But don't get down on thinking you need some one else for what's enough. You need yourself first.
you have a very strong mind, and you are incredibly capable. When you need help you'll be strong enough to receive it. You have to be and you will be, because you are no less neither more than any one else.
Face yourself, love yourself, so the rest of the world can love you too :D

Hi all.. im sorry if any one was offended by this post. i truely am...

My goal was simply to show some of us whats happening..
Maybe inspire some sort of emotion out of you to drive you into action..
spark a fuse that ultimately blows some sort of reaction out of you.
maybe cause some motivation. please please please dont take this as critisism , i know that it could be taken like that to some of you, and im sorry.
Try taking it constructively because thats what i really wanted out of this.
If this didnt help in any way then obviously i failed and would rather this thread deleted

MANY A TRUE WORD IS SPOKEN IN JEST - "Some truths, too painful or too likely to provoke, can be spoken only when the listener has been disarmed by laughter. A proverbial truth known for centuries, this notion was apparently first recorded by Chaucer with the line, 'A man may seye full sooth (truth) in game and pley,' from 'Canterbury Tales' (c. 1387). In 'King Lear' (1605), William Shakespeare wrote, 'Jesters do oft prove prophets,' and some years later, essentially the modern version was rendered in the 'Roxburghe Ballad' (c. 1665): Many a true word hath been spoken in jest.."

From "Wise Words and Wives' Tales: The Origins, Meanings and Time-Honored Wisdom of Proverbs and Folk Sayings Olde and New" by Stuart Flexner and Doris Flexner (Avon Books, New York, 1993).

Not true for every case, not true for every person .

Would you not agree that true words spoken in jest are just as true if not spoken in jest?
Then you must also agree that too be provoked by the truth, must mean you were angered by the truth. There fore i ask why should it be necessary for one to be less angry when supposedly "dis-armed" with laughter ? I come to the conclusion that this would ultimately mean that others must attempt to appease you before speaking.
It is also a philosophical truth that... not all proverbial perceptions of truth...are true

when in doubt, ask papa smurf

well, my grandfather used to say, "you can stick a donut up an orangutan's ass, but you can't use broccoli to clean a typewriter."

it was widely rumored that grandpa coyote drank a bit

he was a good man, though

I'll always remember his dying words to me:

"AAAgh, somebody help get this damn orangutan off me!"

I noticed alot of replies given do not answer the question, but a short story of simularity.

This is whats done in group therapy aswell, as we are not the doctors we have no answers, well maybe sometimes, but you cant expect people on this forum have all the answers to fix your problems, its about support and knowing youre not alone!

I dont get it?
Why do the posts that matter on this site have the least amount of views?
Now keep in mind i dont necessarily dislike these posts!
Why do pointless posts like.....
"LETS COUNT TO INFINITY GUYS"
get more views and more feedback then ones where people are asking for help or providing some sort of resource for some self help?
I get that alot of you want some escape from the real world. i do i get it...
But where do you cut the line bewteen escapism and saying to yourself..
"I want to actually get better"
When are you going to realise that this problem is not going to get easier for you , its not going away when you are sitting here and using the site like its a video game.
I see some of you guys have been here for a very very long time.
Im starting to really question wether or not any of you have any sort of heart or determination in this fight.
Get angry get upset , get motivated and do something about it.
This doesnt necessarily go for all of im sure....
Im also sure alot of you will consider this post pointless...

I know where your coming from but check this:

a thread where someone ask help is not a thread that everyone know the solution, so why should they post anything that is not gonna help you one bit? Or if someone already gave the same answer you were going to give, it's not always useful to say ¨yes i agree¨. Personally I try to answer threads that I can bring something insightful in it.

also about those so call useless thread: I personally find them fun and enjoy them. they often put me in a good mood when I was feeling like crap. so calling them useless is just your opinion.

sure it can be frustrating to not get any reply from important thread but you can expect everyone to have the answer to your problem.

How about perhaps splitting the opening page into "Recent Posts: Main" & "Recent Posts: Fun!", or something.
Move a couple things around on the page and there'd be room, and wouldn't necessarily be messy(er).

Great idea!!
I've sometimes found it difficult to find good threads to reply to, or some that I had replied before (especially if the 'statistics' search was not working...)

I was thinking about this a bit recently too... And something similar was pointed out on another forum...

I do LOVE some of the light-hearted threads though.. At first I was just reading the serious ones for info, and while great info can be found online, some lightheartedness to balance it seems fun!
The trick is to get a bit of both! And to find the good info first, or simultaneously...

I try to reply if I can, especially if there are not many posts yet, sometimes just to show the people they are not alone, I am limiting my internet time though, as I read that 5+ hrs computer time a day can cause depression... (And have other computer-related work to do as well..) Nobody is paid to answer posts on this site... And nobody is a trained professional, as far as I know.. Sometimes there is also not enough 'brain-power' to answer more in-depth to more serious posts..

Sometimes it's also just too stressful to deal with someone's problems.. it depends what kind they are.. some things can trigger a person..

This site has a big influx of new people, so some things get asked anew all the time.. Sorry, but after a while it starts to get boring/tedious to reply to the same things... I do wish people used the 'search' function sometimes... or Google stuff with keywords+socialphobiaworld (seems to work even better than the 'search' function?)

So, these are just some of my considerations... I was disappointed in the beginning too, when didn't get so many replies.. On the other hand, when people get to know you a bit through other threads, they may be more likely to comment your threads too! (And this is true even for some of the more light-hearted threads!!) And you can always ask someone via VM or PM to answer or please reply to your thread, no? :)
