I sort of walk on tip-toes. Around the house anyway, Im very quiet. I can be in the next room, or coming down the stairs, and noone knows Im there lol. I give people a fright quite often because they dont hear me coming lol.

Walking on tip-toes? My brother, who's really shy, does that sometimes. As for me, I tend to always walk super fast. I can't help doing it, it's just when there are people around I want to get away from them as quickly as possible!

Yeah I used to walk fast in some situations too. One that comes to mind is when I was at school, my 2 close friends and I would walk round the main building talking, and sometimes I would see this girl I liked walking the opposite way (so towards us). I would always subconciously speed up so as to get past her as quickly as possible. Stupid really, because I really really liked her... makes no sense that I would want to get away from her, but thats how it was for me.

I feel awkward a lot of the time too. I often don't know how to place my arms if that makes any sense?!

And that makes perfect sence about the arms...I cant seem to relax enough to just let them hang natrualy,i try and walk with a rythm if that makes sence?Thats the only thing that helps me.

Yea I think I do walk weird. I hate walking down hallways when I know people are behind me. In middle school I used to walk really weird. People made comments.

My best friend who wasn't a best friend from Elementry school frequently criticized me of everything I did. She often said, "You walk funny. You run strangely. You can't dance. The way you eat is odd. Did you know everyone gossips about the way you physically do things?" This was partially why my social anxiety began. But this is the full explanation as to why I'm self concious of doing anything in public. Sorry to hear your struggles.

I had an episode today. some random shopper met my eyes today in the supermarket for like 0.001 of a second. shock and despair. i shudder to think of the damage i could have done if i wasn't leaning on the trolley!
