Do you take yourself too seriously?

I definitely take myself too seriously. I can never do anything spontaneous. Everything has to be planned in detail so that the chance of failing becomes much smaller. Boring life really.

I do, and it´s a little exhausting. I love the times when I do have some self-irony, or when I can have fun and not take things or myself too seriously. It helped when alcohol or other intoxicating substances were involved - but that´s not really a good solution, so being sober while not taking things too seriously, that´s something I want more of ...

i take myself too seriously not on purpose, i tend to look like i'm in pain when inwardly i may be joking about something or i feel happy in my head. The reason i think this occurs is because at work i feel stuck and awkward for the 8 hours which means my complexion is either sad or dull. In public maybe i tend to frown more then usual without noticing due to the uncomfort and insecurities of being out and about.

I also may come across as being too serious at parties in a group. Usually there are 75% confident egos talking about something in depth that i may not know much about. So how do i contribute to that conversation? I don't i just laugh if something seems to be funny. I'm ok if i have a couple of drinks but even then i usually don't have anyone around who i have stuff in common with, because people are so different.

Since I really don't have any friends, the only people I can be talkative and funny to are my mom and brother. 3 or so years ago when I had school acquaintances, I could be talkative and funny around them but I haven't seen or talked to them since I left that school in June 2009. (signing up for facebook is not an option for me.)
