Do you ever find beauty in unusual places?

I find that seeing the beauty in unusual/different places gives me a more positive view of life. My favorite example of this is the crumbling moss covered crypt in the oldest cemetery in town. It's a very quiet place but the building itself speaks volumes (Wish I had a picture of it) Does anyone else have a beautiful unusual place like that?

In the evenings I catch myself staring at the sky and the mountains. It's summer here and I love when the sky is reddish with blends of blue and purple. It looks like god is painting an abstract that comes together as a masterpiece. It briefly makes me forget about everything troubling the world.

I see beauty in nature, but from more of an obscure point of view. Natural events like earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and volcanic eruptions i see as beautiful events of nature. Not because of the destruction that can occur, but due to the fact that even now, scientists can't predict when or where they will occur.

I feel like that sometimes, though i can feel depression in really uplifting places so i am probably not much of a judge.Maybe you should take up photography. It sounds like you might have a knack for it.:)

I find integrity in people beautiful.
It's becoming more rare in people in todays society, so when you see someone displaying true integrity it just shines like a beautiful sunrise.

I found the most spectacular view in my new office.

She is blonde, tanned, a new dress every day... now I like stillettos. Friendly; graphic designer; she always lets me in the door when I say 'boo' through her window, every morning, and laughs, as I disturb her. Foreign - maybe Swedish? I don't know her name, and never will - as usual, after the first 5 second introduction, I never remember names. I just remember faces. This is where everything goes wrong. After months of not knowing names (they all know mine) there is no way I'll ever ask. It's SA that causes my complete lockup whenever I meet anyone. If I get lucky - determined to scribble names down - even asking again within 2 seconds, because I didn't quite get it - 'how do you spell that?' After 2 seconds, it's all too late to ask again. I usually get to ask someone else in the toilet... 'what's that Indian girl's name - the one at the end of the row?'

Impossible. Other nice girls.

She smiles at me, and we laugh, a few times in the day. She made me a coffee. She is goorrgeoussss... I melt

oh, sure~
if I were to describe anything truly 'unusual', you'd all think me to be morbid and strange, 'prolly-- so I'll just say yes.

Photography is my most favorite hobby! I'm not as good as Peter Lik (google him! He's great!) but I do ok.. When I get to a computer instead of my Wii... I'll post the scenery shots from my camping nightmare... uhhh trip. I also have some random pics i took on my facebook page.

My favorite would be a clear sky at night where you can really see the stars, unfortunately a neighboring city is growing larger and light pollution is making this difficult

The other morning i was driving up a country highway at around 4 am, came over a crest and there was the moon, HUGE, never ever seen it like this before it was like it was on the road - so hard to explain, and surrounding this was foggy valleys down below. It was just so quiet and beautiful. No other cars or sounds

I like this thread! Finding beauty at random, wholly unexpected, is one of my favorite aspects of life. It's also one of the reasons I could never consider ending mine short, there's too much beauty to see and one can never tell where and when it'll turn up! Whether it's the wind turning a field of uncut grass into a rustling green ocean rippling with waves, or a simple act of kindness, not prompted or asked for and without want of praise. Oh boy now I'm gonna get sentimental and start going "D'awwwww... :3" lol

That is touchy....;)

I have this thing for sunsets and palm trees. I like the orange and pink skies, the sunset and sunrise. I've always been attracted to the colours, even then I've always seen the meaning in them. I have always had an eye for photography like all other ocd'ers but have never actually done it since school.

Hmmm....old dusty video games...like I saw a model 1 sega genesis in a goodwill today for $10. Should have gotten it, it looked so alone. It had marks here and there, and you know that although it probably hasn't been taken care of in a while, I'm sure it's had some pretty good days. Like to think that someone in the early 90's probably had a pretty good time with it. I like to visualize that. That's probably the closest thing to hidden beauty I see.

Construction sites that pend construction.

It's one of the few places that isn't neurtoically trimmed and groomed. I love to see all the raw diversities of plants that grow out of the ground when given an uninterrupted chance. There are more then enough trees and grass in this town, but it's all planted and maintained by someone.

These kind of semi-abandoned construction sites just kinda boost my moral. It's almost like nature is saying; ''You can build towns on me all you want, but I'm still here you *******.''

Yes, yes, and I fully realize that everything on Earth, even the ''artificial'' things, are essentially natural in resources. But it's just nice to see something in it's raw form. Non-human controlled. Free.
