I think i am cursed with bad genes, a lot of my family members having mental health problems.

I read an intersting thing that Love shy males had difficulty being born, and i remember my mum telling me that she had a hard time giving birth to me, saying that she felt she was dying.

that's very interesting - apparently, i was no trouble at all

my mother was swimming at the time - she barely had time to make it out of the pool

my father stopped for a sandwich on the way to the hospital

i was the fourth born, so it was all old hat by that time

interesting discussion

coyote, I didn't detect sarcasm 1st time I read what you wrote and was like 'ooh, coyote'??
if you were aiming for the 'opposite effect' it seems it was achieved tho :)

I like to think we've come a long way since those days too...

kids/people who are 'different' can teach other people A LOT - eg 'special needs' kids can be VERY LOVING and honest etc.

people who have had a troubled past can be way more UNDERSTANDING and helpful/caring to others with similar or other problems etc

have recently come across speculations about 'rebirth' of 'eugenics' (it was popular around the time of Nazi Germany) or such tho??

and genetically modified soy was apparently shown to influence/reduce future generations... :( (??)
see eg Jeffrey Smith: Genetically Modified Soy Linked to Sterility, Infant Mortality in Hamsters
Yes, it does read a bit like science fiction, doesn't it??

There's action against GMO products in Walmart... (or at least for safe labelling) You guys over there might wanna take a look?

I hope that as individuals and as humanity altogether we will be able to find better ways of living together on this planet!!
If we stay zen and go for 'minimalism', A LOT of people can live on this planet in peace!!

yeah, sometimes it can be not so easily detected online :)

it's good to hear you were only joking! :)

some recent developments (eg lack of funding for animal shelters or reduced funding for many useful things, people with problems or NGOs etc) made me think some might be interested in just 'getting rid' of those problems (mum said, 'When have the rich ever cared about the poor?' I hope that is not true though??)
sadly, some people (online and in RL??) don't seem to be joking about these things??

even Bill Gates thinks (or says) GMO food is a way for the 'future' and to provide 'food safety'?? (and humanitarian 'help' to developing nations??)
some of these things seem pretty scary, if you ask me??

Yup I feel like social phobia is like cursed, but I don't think it makes my existence difficult and pointless. It's like, in exchange for having a better perception about life and the world, I have to sacrifice my happiness and give up my ability to function in the modern society.
I used to hate it, but I have learned to appreciate it and consider it a gift, 'a special gene'.
I have wasted too much time trying to be someone else I am not, to fit in this society, but now I realize my social anxiety is a part of me :)
