contentment as a way to happiness

Some one once said contentment is the greatest wealth and happiness.

I take medicine, do exercise ,practice meditation and whatever works for me and they all worked....but the constant need to overcome my anxiety has been killing me. Such big expectation out of everything i do....am so stressed.

Just relaxing and being okay with whatever i have now is happiness i think.....all the while trying to change things has sucked out the life out of me. Why not try to be okay with the present....!! I am not a great soul....so be it. I panic when i have to talk....so be it. I have anxiety in my stomach when i am with people....so be it.

I have to agree. It's the constant wanting that does make us ultimately unhappy. Even with wanting to change our level of anxiety, this is also wanting. There are parts of me that are amazing why not be happy with those things and focus on the joy they bring me. Good points!

You want to know how I got these scars?
Yes I also agree.
I do think it's a bit of a balancing act though. If we don't look forward, have hopes plans and dreams then life can become a bit dull.
But if we want to much, or want all the time, we can fall into the trap of never being content and happy.

I'm never going to be a millionaire, or look like Brad Pitt, and I'm ok with that.
But I'm not content to work all week, all year, and not experience anything that excites me.

At the current time, I love planning for my next overseas holiday. It gives me a a real sense of excitement and adventure. It makes me feel alive.

But yes, being content and more accepting of things on a day to day basis is a huge part
of becoming happier :)

The is a quote that says:"It is not the problem that is the problem, but your approach to the problem."

I've had this epiphany at work this week.I try to keep my desk clean, but I just do not manage it. Now I just tell myself, this is good enough for now. Maybe it will be better later on, but for now it is good enough.

Now my desk is quite neat, but not perfect, and it doesn't bother me.

I'd have to pop someone if they told me how to keep my desk.

Aha ..maybe that's I am self employed.
