Careful Selection

I spend all my time searching job boards for work I can do well. My rate of success is ridiculously low. Recruiters and employers find any way to prevent me from succeeding. However carefully I step, using years of experience of how things turn out, in a garden full of rakes, like Sideshow Bob, I keep standing on rakes which bang me in the face - recruiters who automatically eliminate me from the process because there might be something about me which is not 100% perfect. I am a perfectionist in my work.

What's the next plan of action?

Ignore 1,000s of rakes; laugh and carry on walking into them?

Or pick up a rake, and smash each rake, using the prongs, or the handle, to smash each recruiter until they're dead, or in ongoing pain...?

How would you do it?

I empathize with your situation...It's been almost 7 months now.
There have been times that I've felt like I want to fully give up, but I guess being a quitter won't solve anything either.
To "carry on and ignore" seems to be the only way to cope with this.

Yeah, is there any kind of work where your history could be an asset or at least 'not a problem'?

I'm thinking what about non-profit reachout programs to steer youth on the 'right' ways etc.?

Or any support for people with your kind of history? (Just saying this on the basis of some previous posts you wrote...)

Any religious organisations that might be willing to give you a try? etc.

Way different work would be an option too (such with no option for potential problems like before), I guess...

Are you emphasizing how you've completely changed and what you're doing to keep on right track this time? (eg any counselling/support groups etc?)

I remember that Sideshow Bob episode "Cape Fear" lol

Interviews are what I fear most. I go in there and have to pretend to be someone I'm not, and suck up to the company? Why? Why do I have to be fake? Is everyone else being fake, too? I think so.
