I've always talked too fast when I am with people I don't know well.
It feels like I am bothering them and what I am saying may not be worth their listening time, so I speed it up to get it over with quick.

I have my own patois.
Speak really fast, words sliding into each other, terrible enunciation, and very softly.
I've heard "what?" more times than any human ever.
I need classes on how to how to speak.

Amazingly enough I once did a job interview for a telemarketing job.

Yeah I wasn't hired...

I feel like it takes me longer to think about what to say so I end up talking slower and it causes problems. People seem so impatient with me, sometimes I get mad and want to grab them and say could you lay off the coke and SLOW THE **** DOWN?

Lmao! I feel this way with certain people too. And the funny thing is I actually talk faster than some of them. They're just extremely selfish and don't want to wait a moment for others to express themselves.

Way too fast, I always gotta repeat what I'm saying. But I also make mistakes because of it. ::(: I talk faster than I think, so that gives a combination of several words sometimes. xD

Ahhh...I have the opposite problem. I think a LOT faster than I talk. I have to slow down my thinking sometimes and I just get confused. If only I could talk to people telepathically...

Up to now, there is a light tendency of us SAers to speak too fast. I also behave that way, and I think I have a possible explanation.

SA people are shy, and very fearful about keeping conversations with others and such; so we want to make our speeches brief and to the point to avoid "boring" the other part, and since we tend to have low esteem, put ourselves in a passive position to please the other in hearing their speech instead of wanting to have the initiative in the conversation.
