All I hear about usually is about the crazy things that go on in parties, how drunk people get, all the random sexual favors given, and the casual sex that occurs. The naked girls dancing. The crazy sex orgies that goes on in plain view of everyone. Why do parties have to be so raunchy?

I'm not part of that scene so I guess from my point of view I'm a little freaked out by such things, because I've never been to a party, I've never really gotten laid or anything.

Hearing all this I kind of doubt the normal "monogamous relationships" because now the way I see it, people are really sex crazy and especially when drunk (or who knows maybe they dont need to be drunk), people get crazy sexy with new comers that are "attractive".

Should I just give up on monogamy and start using people for sex now, or start having random sex and get drunk at parties and just look for casual encounters?

My ideal beginning of a relationship does not start off with a "casual encounter". I'm not even doing these types of things so I dont see myself starting a relationship that way anyways. Am I a fool for believing that a woman will be exclusive with me if we both 'agree' on it?

can I trust that if I get a girlfriend, and some random guy hits on her that she won't go running off to the bathroom with him to give him a blowjob, or 2 or more others that hit on her the minute I leave her alone for some time?

Can I trust my friends to not hit on my girlfriend?

Not all girls are pornstars :D. lol, i dont think that kind of stuff happens as much as people say, although ive never been to a party so i wouldnt know...

yes I am....

even though I fall in an extreme category since I haven't ever gotten much sex... only twice, and the situations sucked. Not because performance-related they just weren't ideal circumstances.

maybe some people can just be so desperate that they want to have crazy experiences like I mentioned in my original post. I don't know if I can understand..though I do know what it feels like to be 'desperate' for love, and even sex.

All i know is I don't like it. Some people do things even though they dont like it.

though I believe if the world wasn't so messed up we wouldn't have to resort to such things.

well. I wish I could have crazy monkey sex but with a girl I love and who loves me.

It's sad that most people can't really develop much of a relationship so they go out and get drunk and have "casual encounters".

well the fact is..

I can't really accept the reality of sex. Perhaps because I haven't been able to share it with a person that I love. I hate that we have hormones and sometimes feel an uncontrollable urge to have sex, such that we can even become mentally disturbed. I hate how mentally disturbing sex can be if abused or if associated with the wrong ideas.

And that's the truth. I hate how heartbreaking it can be to lose a relationship. How powerful love can be only to be broken by it when it's "gone". I hate pleasure.

call me boring I guess. but perhaps I wasn't meant to be striving for "perfection' for "pleasure", etc. The more pleasure I feel the more I "like" it, and "hate" pain.

I really don't think anyone wants anything other than crazy monkey sex.

I can't trust that anyone will ever want to have this stuff.

And besides, it's not like animals can't be monogamous either. Like.. animals ONLY have polygamous relationships, or are promiscuous. Like our animal instinct makes us so. There are animals that aren't so... "promiscuous".. or form monogamous "relationships".

Whatever that means. I dont know how it's possible since nature, or the wild is pretty cruel.

You know, there is a good valid point in this thread. That sex just for the sake of it, really doesn't mean much. Something that others, and myself included can't get around how people can enjoy sex when it's with complete strangers or people they don't even care much about.

Call me Mr. Traditional or what ever you like, but I want my sex to include a lot of feelings. I want to make love to my partner. Like some other people it just annoys the crap out of me that people can be so superficial and sleep with each other JUST because of the way they look. There's gotta be intense and emotional connection underneath or it just ain't happening for me. Not that I've even got much...twice now, that's it. I don't mind.

no, they aren't. most of the people who act that way are having a pissing contest or they have some sort of obsession. there's nothing wrong with a healthy appetite but it's ridiculous (and lame) to be sex crazy. usually people who behave that way are superficial anyway. no substance.

why are you so focused on comparing yourself to ridiculous media standards? srsly. media = fiction. it's all the equivalent of a cartoon. even "reality" shows. people and relationships are nothing like what the media depicts! you must realize this.

I've been to parties and they're not at all what you said they're like lol

There's no nudity, or orgies and maybe two people will sneak off and have sex but that's it lol

Agree with what everyone else is saying like Dottie and Freestyle...Obviously orgies and stuff go on sometimes in some places.But they really are the exception rather than the rule even in this sex obsessed media climate we have.The media loves a scandal and often blows them out of all proportion and all sorts.

I dont think everyone is obsessed with sex,And i think most people would happily take a stable loving or stable relationship than say just random sex with someone they dont really know.I mean it does happen..were only human we have urges and aslong as its two adults and no one gets hurt,there shouldnt be a problem.I hope this doesnt sound harsh no1,but i dont think its doing you any good thinking about this sort of stuff all the time.
