I am a straight man so I am naturally afraid of sperm....lol

Seriously though, I have kinda an OCD-like obsession aboot being clean when I masturbate. Like I have a certain "process" that I have to do every time and it involves cleaning rituals so as to never see or feel the sperm.

Oh my god, I feel exactly the same way. I thought I was the only one. It's because of this specific OCD fear, that I'm a 20-year-old virgin. I do have a boyfriend and we do "things", but I'm always clothed. I make sure of it. Yet, I still find ways to freak out over being pregnant. I have an extremely irregular period, and I actually rarely get mine. I'm sure it's related to my anxiety and probably a mix of hormonal issues, too. So, when I get scared of being pregnant, I have no way of getting that official "no" with a period. It sucks.

I'm sorry you're going through such a rough time. This is not easy to deal with. At the same time, I'm glad I'm not the only girl that freaks out over this kind of stuff. I'm sexually educated and I'm not a moron. I know how sex works and I know what gets a woman pregnant. However, logic plays absolutely no role in my mind when I'm worrying over stuff like this. I'm pathetic.

Ugh, sorry I made this about me. I was just surprised to see this thread. If you ever need to talk, I'd like to. :)

I'm not sure I understand..you're scared of getting pregnant from sperm on a toilet seat?

I don't think that's possible. And I put on underwear everyday... Sorry I don't understand your post.

She has an irrational fear of becoming pregnant from sperm on a toilet seat.

no offense to anyone but...if sperm was that dangerous or potent, all the chics in porno flicks would be growing babies in their throats and on their faces. Now i never got a chic pregnant ,but I don't think that it works that way. If so, they sure seem happy about it. xD

Emily G its called having OCD, the same reason every OCD obession is impossible or irrational for the most part, yes you would not understand if you dont have OCD so why post in this thread at all? Not trying to be rude but what you posted in this thread is not helpful at all to the original poster.

Haha I agree Barry, why post on a thread if you have nothing helpful to offer to the discussion (Im not trying to attack you either Emily G just realize this). While i do not OCD i have a brother that does and I understand that it is difficult not to obsess about certain things like that even if they are irrational, just like most of my social phobias. The advice I would like to offer is that you just need to realize (im sure it is very hard and im not saying it is easy) that sperm dies very quickly in the air and the odds of getting pregnant from coming in contact with sperm from a toilet seat are so small that one could make the claim it is physically impossible. Also in terms of your boyfriend and you not having sex, that is respectable if you dont want to but if you do, you need to realize that birth control is like 99.9% effective or some high percentage up there and so are condoms. There are even condoms that have spermicide on them which kills all sperm on contact. Im sure you are aware if all this but I really think you need to realize that you are very safe unless you decide to have unprotected sex. Just chill out, I know it is easier said than done but give it a try.

While not afraid of sperm, I am afraid of sperm whales. Their teeth, their size, and not knowing the full extent of their intelligence. Whales are magnificent, but if I was ever in the water and saw one I know I'd die shortly thereafter. And with soiled pants.

I read a book a few years ago called In The Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex. There's a basic rundown of the story here. The really short version: it was the inspiration for Moby Dick. Ship hit by a whale, ship sinks, men slowly starve and resort to killing and cannibalism for survival.

So good luck with your sperm fears. And hope you never have to deal with a sperm whale on a toilet seat! :)

I suppose I'm scared of sperm in the sense that I don't want it anywhere near me, and if (for whatever reason*) I came into bodily contact with it, I would shower immediately afterwards.

Also those of us with OCD know our fears are irrational and sometimes impossible...thats what OCD is.

I wasn't aware I wasn't allowed to post on certain threads. Other people have posted things like "that's not possible" and "don't be scared of it" etc.

I post on recent threads on the homepage thingy and respond to ones where I have something to say. No one has to like it or even read them, idc.

3 other people responded in a similar manner as I did. It's fine if you don't like what I put, but not sure why I was the only one out of 4 that was singled out.

No one is attacking you emily you are fine it was just the way you worded it. The way I read it was that u not only didn't understand her but u were criticizing her for feeling that way. It has nothing to do with the fact that u didn't understand it or have never experienced it, it is about the way u worded it. Chill out it's all gravy.

I'm not upset. I feel I worded it just fine. Sometimes I think people want something to say something that it doesn't, it seems to happen a lot on forums I've noticed.

But others didn't say " i put underwear on everyday" you did. It did not sound right!

I didn't understand what she meant in the OP. To me it sounded like it was a weird thing to wear underwear all the time....which was really confusing to me.
