Are you territorial? You know how there's two kinds of animals, the kind that get attached to people, and then the kind that gets attached to it's territory.
maybe normal folks attach to people, and sa folks attach to territory. just a fun theory.

i know i always notice how places smell.

I think i need to stand near to Jake123 when my bladder gets outta control, cause he's implying that people with SA pee themselves. Your going to be my territory soon :D

I think I might be that way... I get comfortable with where I live, and find it hard to think about ever moving somewhere else. I've only ever lived in two different cities my entire life, and I still get kind of nostalgic about where I grew up.

Also, I totally understand the smell thing, too... sometimes certain smells will remind me of certain places or times in my life... or I may not even remember specifically where I remember it from, but it will conjure up particular feelings or moods... it is kind of weird.

Although, I think I also get attached to people... but not many. As an avoidant I don't let many people get too close. Right now, it's probably restricted to my family- my kids and my mom- I couldn't imagine not being able to see my kids or moving too far away from my mom that I couldn't visit frequently.

oh yeah, i like my state alot because its so familiar to me, and itd take alot of motivation for me to move and get used to somewhere else.

the smell of the cleaning stuff they use for public buildings, thats what always hits me and makes me uncomfortable, ah the smell of lemons and bleach burning your brain.

seems like it all comes down to whether your a dog or a cat person.

and i aint standing near any of ya

To a degree, yeah. My areas are MINE, they are part of my sanctuary, and I do not like people poking through my things or entering my room/home/space without my permission. At school I like to sit in the same seats every day and I consider them to be part of my area. I like to go to the same spots and I don't like to deviate.

However, I'm not OCD about it. If anyone does any of the above, I described, I'm not going to freak out or anything over it. I'd probably be uncomfortable for a few seconds til I readjust myself.

Yeah...definitely territorial... I mark all the bushes and property corners of my yard every day.... Then like a buck deer I do that "lip curl" to test the air for pheromones and to see if there are any intruders... Haha! :D

I have lived in the same house the same location for 41 years.... Talk about being set in your ways, eh?

yeah, thats one too, i always sit on the same side of the train, facing the same direction every day, and always sit in the same place for break.

i can relate to the whole people moving in on your territory thing. tons of northerners moved south where i live. i had someone tell me i talked slow. you shouldnt have people act like you talk funny when you live where your dialect should be!

iamthenra i am really bad man seriously. Like i said i feel i own my neighborhood. I hate being that way but i cant help it. lol like seriously this town is like Mayberry. When i was growing up we all knew each other here..until around 10 years ago it was all old people that i have known since i was a child (the way i liked it). It was a very nice/clean neighborhood till they all started dying off. now i bet you i only know around 15 to 20% of the people who lived here as apposed to 100% 10 years ago...almost all the new ones are drug addict theives and that is what drives me nuts. They come in here and act is if they have lived here all their lives, like they own the place......but i have payed my dues the way i see it lmao. All the old people who died off were born and raised in this neighborhood as well. It has been really hard for me to get used to this. All the really nice houses are all ran down and shit its depressing.

Yo Barry, I hear ya man! I understand completely! When I was a kid growing up in this very home I am in right now... this area was considered country. No kidding, corn fields everywhere. Mature oak woods, wildlife everywhere, even sometimes in our yard. Now, there isn't any wildlife, no more woods or open spaces. Houses are stacked on top of each other and developers are trying to squeeze as many homes as they can in between houses... It's ridiculous. I used to like living here, with all the open areas and plenty of space and a safe place to raise kids... Now, you can barely cross the street without getting hit by oncoming traffic. A road that used to get about 1 car every 4 minutes, now is more like a friggen freeway. They even had to make it a 4 lane (county road not a highway) to accommodate all the darn traffic. Now when I have to go anywhere I usually get held up in traffic just trying to get out of the neighborhood. I have to sit at traffic lights on the off ramps just to get out into the highway near my home. Once I get out on the highway it's bumper to bumper and many times it's a darn parking lot where we are not moving at all. When I was a kid, there were maybe 1 or 2 traffic lights in about a 10 mile area and the highway always ALWAYS was moving with very few people on the roads.... OVER FRIGGEN CROWDED is my beef. And like you, I feel like I was here first. Why am I having to wait and inconveniencing my life because of all these people that have moved here from God knows where... They have all made my life even more miserable than it already is. As a kid I used to go fishing at a local lake, and I was able to keep what I caught without having to bring a tape measure. Now because of fishing pressure from too many people, I now am limited on how many fish and there is a slot size limit that has to be followed. I have to measure every one of them and most of the time I don't get to keep anything. Just too many people, wrecking things for others... That's the way I see things.

iamthenra i know exactly what you mean and it really sucks. These fools move here like you said from god knows where and act like they own the place. I take it so as to even get pissed when they turn in my driveway or turn the criminal minded kids loose to reak havoc on the whole neighborhood without watching them (not the kids faults though its the parents). Man i could go on an on about this subject all night long lmao.

Yeah, you are correct... It is IN FACT the parents faults! Now the little hooligans stand in the middle of the roads with their arms folded across their chests and challenge vehicles to either stop or go around them... This is becoming more frequent in my neighborhood. That and the curse words and the lack of respect for their elders... Kids have changed allot since I was young. I think the family life has degraded and there isn't any discipline or respect being taught anymore. Is this our future?

OMG were do you live because we have that same exact problem here in my neighborhood and i am not even joking. these kids who live next door do that all the time. They will stand in the middle of the road and force cars to go around them. One main reason is because their papaw is the cheif of police here and they get away with everything. But what it has done is create a domino effect with the other kids...they ALL do it now, that is so weird you mentioned this as it is a big problem here lmao. My dad would have wore my ass out if i did those type things!!!!!

See thats where the temper comes in barry and iamthenra. I would just have to get out of my car and smack the shit out of one of those kids. Cant stand ppl who think they are somehow touched by a holy hand

Oh i c Minnesota....how u liking Tubby Smith up there.

Huh? Tubby Smith? What what WHAT? Haha! Must be some sports reference eh? If it isn't Favre, then I am not sure who you would be talking about... lol

Yeah you are correct... My dad would have done the same thing to me. I would have been tied to my daddy's bumper and drug down the road a ways until my arse was raw, and then he would have used a willow stick and made my back raw before he showered me in rubbing alcohol and without supper even... lol I would have been severely beat for doing what these kids do now-a-day. Theft is on the rise too, just a year ago had my car broken into... Obviously some kids, because I just had a "stock" stereo in my car... Idiots.... It was just a radio, with no CD or tape or anything else... lol They would get maybe $5. for it...maybe. lol All I know is I would feel very sorry for the fool who breaks into my home... They will look allot like swiss cheese by the time I am done with 'em.... haha!

wow. that really sounds like an ass kicking waiting to happen (parents included). Good luck u guys lol. the kids around my neighborhood vandalize everything they can get their paws on except my things. They know exactly whats coming lol

LOL Gio i wouldnt waste my breath on their parents, they are crazy and more than likely wouldnt know what u are talking about anyway, lool.

Totally right! They are just as bad as the kids most of the time.

Brings back a memory of about 10 years ago... I had a car that was falling apart... I started buying all these vigilante stickers... You know the ones... "When in doubt empty the clip"... "Driver only carries $20. worth of ammo"... NRA stickers all over the vehicle the BIG lettered ones that were about 20 inches in diameter... They looked more like the big painted badges on the sides of cop cars... lol And these dumb teen boys were standing in the middle of the street and even threatened to smash the windows of my car because I wasn't about to move. It was a standoff... They eventually moved a little bit and I darn near drove over their toes.... lol And of course they acted as if they were going to punch my windows in... That would have been real fun! Because then I would have gone to jail for sure. I've got a bad temper at times....

I am not sure... I don't like changes, but I hate the place where I am now. If I were in a different place (better than here) maybe I'd get territorial. I can get very attached to people too, if I trust and like them enough. My thoughts are kinda divided here.
