First of all happy birthday KJC.

Do you know if there's anything you can do to try and improve? You say you did a lot outside and had friends.....how did you get those? It must be possible to get friends and go out places again? And what happened to your relationship with your parents to make it go downhill?

I have no friends, never talk to anyone, never go anywhere, can't stand my parents

I'm turning 20 in a week too and am in the same situation. Sucks doesn't it? It would be nice to hear from people who were in the same situation and how they turned it around.

Your comments are SA Controlled... What does that mean:confused:

Before SA played a big part in your life, you could see that you have a great family , friends etc.
btw you still know they are by your opening statement, you've changed not them!

SA grew stronger in you, and all that you loved gots swallowed up by the disorder.

The good news is you can control it and get some normality back to your life ..
But this takes a lot of continual work, good and bad as it's all part of the learning process, and like Tuco said you've got your youth.

Tell me....What happens when you walk into a coffee shop, what's you reaction or thoughts??

happy birthday!!
i wanted to say that i tottaly understand your sichuation.
im 27 and untill 7 years ago my life was in the normal lane:
i felt comfortable with people and had a great life.
and then social anxiaty kicked in.....
my life just went down hill from there.
anyway i wish you a happy birthday and i hope you will find a way to overcom this problem.

Life does not run on a script. In other words, anything can happen. Like others have said, you are still young. Once you start learning more about yourself and what you want out of life things will get better. Just takes some time and patience.

I really think its interesting how people say that they used to be happy and outgoing, but now they are facing SA.

The thing is with me, I have NEVER had friends, been close to my family, been in a romantic relationship, experienced normal teenage life, or any of that. I turned 19 in October and I just feel like im getting really old and I need to get my life together quickly or things will never get better with me. All I think about is me turning 20 next year. It bothers me so badly. I believe that I did not receive the proper emotional development as a child and because of that I cannot connect with other people my age. Not just my age, but people in general. ::(:

So it surprises me when I hear people say this. But I hope things get better for you.

Take some online classes as well as in in person so it's not overwhelming? Having a special someone can come later....
