It doesn't make me feel bad because I already know. I got 14 once :/ I used to get 12, thank goodness I don't get that any more.

I hate looking THAT young because it causes me anxiety when I go to bars or to buy alcohol from somewhere, or when I hang out with my peers and people don't believe my age and make a huge deal out of how young I look. And I think men my age don't know I'm in my 20's so it probably lessens my chances of being asked out unless I already know the guy well already. Among other things...

But yeah, I was just curious to see what people would say. I don't feel bad.

I know exactly how you feel, I'm 19 and I get the 12 thing, I'm praying for a 14 some day, a 16 is like seeing a unicorn. But yeah it sucks.

I do know how you feel. I've been through some embarrassing situations before because I look younger than my age. One time I went to dinner with my then-husband and his sister, and the hostess offered me a kids menu because she thought I was their child. :eek:mg:
In my mid-twenties the embarrassing comments started to wane somewhat, and honestly now when someone tells me I look like a teenager I feel more grateful than horrified.

I remember you telling me about times like this before, like when you went to the airport :/

I know it will be great when I'm older and I hear that CONSTANTLY. And I know some people who now look quite a bit older than they actually are, and that certainly won't be fun later on (You're only 32? But you look... Oh. Sorry.)

It's just not a great feeling when you're an adult now and still being viewed and treated as less-than-adult. And just forget about alcohol. I like drinking and I like trying different drinks, but I get so much anxiety that I end up just avoiding it. I suppose it's healthier anyway, but it bums me out because there's nothing wrong with having a drink now and then, but I have to really brace myself and screw my courage up to go to the store (forget about bars... too many embarrassing moments).

I once had a nurse look at my papers and then tell me "You're 21!? Good luck getting into bars". And I had been hospitalized for depression and suicidal thoughts. What a thing to say and what a time to say it. Best nurse ever.

Anyway I'm hijacking the picture thread with this. Sorry.

Opaline you could always try smoking... I knew a girl in high school who looked like she was 29/30 when she was 18 because she smoked a pack a day.

I'm assuming you're joking about actually taking up smoking... I've thought of it, but never seriously. I would never do that. Ick.

I can't go without makeup though... I look young enough WITH it, without it is a joke.
