So yesterday I realized I am really afraid to be romantic or flirty with women when around other people and that really totally made me anxious beyond anything.

Just a few hours ago I just relaxed myself and pushed against it. I hit on a girl right in front of a bunch of new friends I just met. Boom. Like it was nothing. I just did it without thinking. Yes, it was slightly awkward.

I just got home and she left me a message asking for my phone number and facebook. I didn't ask her, she asked me. I got a girl to chase after me. And she said she had "a great time" and liked me flirting with her.

I WIN. Take that, shyness and anxiety!! Winning!

It's good to bask in glory, but I have a question about the line "I just got home and she left me a message asking for my phone number and facebook." How did she leave you a message if she didn't know your phone number?

we met through an event website so she had to contact me through that website.

So update....

I asked her out. Went on the date. She's not particularly someone I'd like to continue dating but was a nice girl.


I don't really care, to me it feels like I just joined the human race.

that's perfect!

we often think that each thing we do has to be the end all and be all

if we build it up in our head that asking someone out on a date means we're going to spend the rest of our life with them, it becomes an overwhelming task

better to remember that it's just a date - perhaps a one time thing - a chance to get to know the person is all - no big deal - no reason to fear that they might not like us, because it may turn out that we don't particularly like them that much either

that's really awesome, eso!!
