Hi,
Just was wondering if one of you has got issues living with others in the same ap., let's say for example with other 4 people that you don't know or ever met. I'm nearly 30 and it's almost 4 years now that i live on my own, in a small ap., always lived alone and never with other people, before i was living with my parents. Are you living by your own, still with your parents or with other people? If so how do you cope with the SA issue? Does the fear go away after you get to know the people? I think one thing is going to live with your partner or friends you know for a long time and another is going with perfect strangers ...

I wouldnt be able to live with anyone I wasnt comfortable with. I would constantly be on edge thinking "ugh if I have an attack I cant have it around someone like him/her!"

I still live with my parents, never moved out. The sad thing is it's difficult to afford a place without sharing but i don't want to share as i like my privacy. I have no one i could share with anyway.

I've always shared a room with one of my sisters, so sharing my space and living with another person isn't a big deal. It was fine when I went to college and had a dorm room mate and when I got married.

It depends on the roommates. Last year I had some really awesome roommates and I had no problem with them. This year it's a bit different; not to say it's bad, I just never talk with any of them.

I live with my sister right now. Mostly to help her finish school (I pay the bills etc), then I have some plans to move out on my own. She's a slob, which drives me crazy. But she's usually out all the time so it's almost like living alone anyway lol.

I wouldn't be able to live with strangers. I'd be so uncomfortable and anxious all the time. Worse would be living in a dorm -- I'd just die.

Yeah I think if all flatmates were like your one, then nobody would ever share a house! She sounds like a horrible witch!

Oh tell me about it!

Id advise anyone not to live with strangers.
I lived with a friend last year and we had a minor falling out.
(She has OCD and is a major clean freak.....and then she saw my room!)
But we went out last night and had a great laugh!

At least if you're living with friends it can be patched up!

I could never live with anyone else, I'd be constantly paranoid to death, things would be chaotic. And I don't think anyone would want to live with a sicko like me, they'd probably run away after two days.

It was hard for me when I was a kid because my mom always let family members & other people stay with us & I've always been very scared & hated it when people visited, muchless when they lived there. Luckily, since becoming an adult, my mom is the only person i've had to live with. I know i could never handle having a roommate, though. I'd never be able to even leave my room. We'll be moving soon & it will most likely be to an apartment building & i'm scared of even the thought because I'm afraid it's going to be too much like living with people, even though they'll be living in their own apartments. I know it's going to be much harder for me to leave home when we move than it is now.
