Yea., i know what you mean, in a way it's showing ingoranance on their part., just because someone is nervous doesn't mean they are trying to hide something.. I have actually been in a situation where I was being accused of something just because I was nervous.. it really pisses me off. I can see why people would think that but maybe if they would be a little more open and realize not everyone is the same. I am an honest person and try to do the right thing but because of this people always misunderstand me, and the person that actually is wrong gets special treatment.. I hate being treated like a criminal because of this.

This is a common problem for people with our condition. It's an anxiety issue. Sometimes I find it impossible, it's just too intense. Someone might come over and talk to me about something totally mundane and I'll feel like I'm about to suffocate.

Maybe you can educate your mom on Social anxiety and let her know many people have this problem. It's not about telling the truth, it's about neurotransmitters running amok.

I went through a regular stage of paranoia today; always trying to resolve / consolidate the reason why I'm passed off as a fool who seems to be nervous or stupid and lies his way through life. For serious issues I am plain and simple honest and accept my own drawbacks, and only get serious and truthful when chasing opportunities.

Maybe the haughty special people assume if anyone slips over on ice or any lady doesn't have the very fullest eyelashes stuck on, they must be liars. They all know best because they are the best and always have been and always will be

Do they find a lot of liars? Oh yeah, and if someone ever lied, then everyone lies. Whatever... liars

Well that's pretty good logic for a 3-year old

Sometimes I get panicky at just the idea of someone thinking I may have done something wrong. That's not very helpful if someone is feeling suspicious.

I also blush and get nervous and/or embarrassed in situations where I see someone else in a situation I'd be nervous in. Even on TV.

Big egos just think they know everything, so if you say something and they disagree, even if you are correct, they will believe they know better.

My brother thinks I'm lying to him many times. Even when I told him that I'm telling the truth, he still doesn't believe me. Sometimes I can't reason with him at all.
