What made you happy today?

We wandered through the woods near our house this morning and stumbled upon the most gorgeous place I have ever seen in Central Indiana. It was a bend in the river with rocks all the way across and plants growing and there were ducks and a great blue heron all congregated in this one place. It was early so it was still a little misty and that golden sunlight that you get right after sunrise. Completely secluded. Even the trees all around were especially beautiful. It's the kind of place that photos just won't do justice.

I had the interview for my second part-time job today. It went exceedingly well, and I was basically told I had the job.

I really am excited for this opportunity, even though it will mean no days off in addition to skating and school. I'll have to work around more people my age, as opposed to my current job where everyone is older. Maybe it will be a step towards beating my social anxiety. :D

today i was playing football alone and 2 little really nice kids (6 and 9) arrived, and asked me to play with them, at first i said "no" but then i thought, "fck it" and i went to them and asked if they still wanted to play a little bit. they smiled and agreed. we played a match and I had let them win to put a smile on theire face. when they had to leave they where very happy that i played with them, i saw it in their eyes. that gave me a moment of happiness.

I don't live anywhere near Hurricane Isaac's path, my name isn't Lindsay Lohan and I am not the Navy SEAL who wrote that tell-all book about Bin Laden's death and had my real name exposed.

This sweet little old man needed some help today at the clinic, so I sat down next to him, listened to what he needed, and then got him scheduled to come back at a time that worked for him since his elderly wife was home alone. He asked what my name was, took my hand, and thanked me for taking the time to help him out. Sometimes all the older folks want is for someone to listen to what they have to say. A simple gesture that means so much to them! :)

I don't think it's just old folks that need this. Even teenagers want to feel heard at times. Sometimes all it takes is for one person, such as yourself, to sit with anyone for just a few minutes to let them know that for a moment, their needs are important. You did a great thing, BlackSheep. :)

I finally finished sewing this dress. And finally got my hair the color I really wanted. I don't look very happy...but I swear I am. :)
