Saw My Doc Yesterday...

Well here is what happended yesterday...

He gave me a line for 4 weeks after i told him about me, how i been feeling etc...

At first he seemed a bit determined to persuade me from asking for a line! but i dug my heels in and repeated what i said to him with along the lines of "I KNOW HOW I FEEL", "I'M NOT MENTALLY ABLE TO WORK" and he said he could give me a line if that's what i wanted then he was aying stuff like "So you dont want to work?" and that a job wouyld be good for me, tlaking about "Structure" etc that was pissing me off and i kept saying that "I KNOW HOW I FEEL", "I'M NOT MENTALLY ABLE TO WORK" "I Dont even know myself when my episodes will happen"

he then asked me to write DOWN my issues?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Told him" you know my issues, you have my medical record"

"Yes but i want you to write them down" EH?!?!?!?!!! i then offered to do it then and there but he said "I have people to see so write them down and hand it in and we can discuss them"

WTF.

I phoned for my employment and support allowence claim, been on the phone for 45 mins, they will send me out a statement within 3 working days which im to keep and they will enclose a self adressed envelope so i can send my sick line.

Hey Scottish, sorry to hear about all the upset..

I'm not sure what a line is either - waiting line till you can come to him next time with your problems written down?
Can he at least get you counselling, CBT or something?

Do you need to have an official 'diagnosis' to get into that cool club house community you posted the other day?

I'm really upset with doctors and the medical system today too.. They told me the waiting line is 7 months for the *first* check up with the doctor for celiac disease, and you talk 20 minutes and he gives you to go for blood tests (which you get results from in like 14 days) and stomach test... yikes!! So even though I know too much gluten is making me feel bad I need to eat it for 7 months so that they can test me proper?? Grr!!

And meanwhile, my family doesn't believe me and requires me to cook for myself or eat gluten stuff, and they complained big time when I cooked for myself so grr!! Don't know what to do?! I just don't have trust into medical system and medical community anymore.. (And it might even not be gluten, it could be milk/lactose intolerance or something else.. uff..)

A sick line is like medical evidence that the dr has given offically recognising my illness/what's wrong with me i send for my claim so i can recieve the benefit iam trying to claim as he has my medical records, knows what im like etc.

Did that clear it up for you?

Re the Clubhouse: no i dont, it can be a self referral but i have to send in a letter saying i have a mental illness and i dont pose a threat and then i will get put on the waiting list which is 2 months long.

I have had cbt at my dr's sugery from a councillor on 2 seperate occasions and it just did not work at all.

Yeah, that clears it up.

Sorry, you've told me a bit of that already, I can be a bit ADD sometimes..

I really wonder what sort of CBT you guys have over there.. I only did it through a book before and it was really helpful.. (The Feeling Good Workbook..) Maybe the counsellors don't know how to present it in a good way, hm?

I have signed off my Jsa claim(On Thursday just after i finished the phone call for my employment and support and allowence) and today i got my statement and self adressed envelope today and i have just posted my sick line to the office in Aberdeen.

The Advice booklet i got about employment and support benefit Says i will be on a 13 weeks assesment period getting the basic rate for employment and support benefit then during that i will have to take a personal capability test or something.

This morning I called the employment and support allowence dpepartment in aberdeen and asked if they had recieved my sick line and i said i posted it on saturday but they said they wouldnt have got it yet and will get it most likely in a few days as it goes to a sorting office first then get deilvered to them seperated into departments!! also they said something about my claim woulddnt get processed or something till about the 20th?!?!!! WTF!!! im calling again on thursday.

You can claim social fund loan if you are desperate for cash while you wait.

CAB would know more details of that, also they can phone up DWP for you and enquire on your benefits (and pester them)
