OH MY GOD I AM SO ANGRY AND FRUSTRATED. My computer has some kind of malware virus on it (Antivirus Soft)--it's a scam and it is pissing me off. So many pop-ups! And I can't figure out how to get rid of it because it won't even let me run AVG or Spybot, and the program that the internet told us to use fixed it for a total of ten minutes but now it's back, and OH MY GOD. >.< The only reason I'm even able to use the internet right now is because I use Firefox instead of IE!

Do a system restore then when it comes back online use CCleaner and AVG
then i would say to be extra safe switch to chrome and don't use FF, although FF is safe i am told chrome is the safest browser.

^I can't do a system restore, it won't let me! Every time I try to it says, "File cannot be opened because it is infected" or something like that. Believe me, System restore was the first thing I tried, lol.

I actually don't know, I'll have to ask my bf when he gets home (I'm not that computer-smart, heh). Thanks. :)

if you cant get into system restore the usual way you could try this
click start
hover over - all programs
accessories
system tools
and then click system restore

i had to do it that way before, you may already have tried that though

Do you know the name of the virus ?

Antivirus Soft is the thing that they keep trying to make me buy and when I typed it into Google that's what kept coming up (like the fixes and stuff) so I'm assuming it's just Antivirus Soft.

FOR REAL, I'll try that now, thank you :)

Going through the start menu still caused this to pop up:

Security Warning: Application cannot be executed. The file rstrui.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?

When I click yes it takes me to their software page, when I click no it just exits.

You may see "Application can not be executed" Security Warning when your computer is infected with a rogue anti-spyware application or other malicious software. Malware blocks legitimate software (especially anti-virus) and states that the requested file is infected (usually an executable file). Then it asks whether you want to activate antivirus software (fake) or not. If such error occurs, you should end malware processes with task manager
. If task manager is blocked too, then use Process Explorer. Then try to run your anti-virus/spyware software again.
