Hi everyone, Im female, 18, from the UK, had years of this shyness/sp...really starting to get tired of it now. Couldnt believe it when I came across this site and found out that there are many people who feel as I do, Im sorry you have to go through it too :( I know all too well how hard and frustrating it is.
Im going to university to study psychology soon, get away from my family who seem to love to criticise me, perhaps linking to why I am like this. Im excited about starting a new life where I can be myself (hopefully). I only hope that my shyness doesnt get in the way of it.
Im not in therapy, or on medication or anything like that. Ive seen a few therapists, and several doctors, all of which have been a waste of time. So now I deal with it by myself with little support from others, but thats the way I find it works best.
If anyone ever needs to talk, then Im here and would be more than willing to give anyone the support that they deserve and need. I cant give anyone a magic wand, cure or even 'help' them, just can be a comfort and a friend when it seems like the whole world is getting on with life and youre left behind...at least thats how I feel sometimes.
Anyway peeps, Ill stop rambling now  !! Hope to hear back from ya!

Hugs and Kisses

I'm one of the elder members. I stopped going on this site for a few years because I didn't think it was helping. I suppose it's nice to know that there are people like you but there is often an abundance of negativity. OP was wise enough to leave as soon as she got in.

Lo there brother, 'tis good to see an elder who predates even my forgotten joining.

What word is there from Midgard? Or have you forsaken the sun scorched world of men?

Our time on this site just goes to show how effective it can be to get oneself cured. I believe I have forsaken the sun scorched world of men, btw.

Lovely message! yeah i've found it's very much an individual journey you have to take to see any real progress, i've gone through therapy a few times now and in the end it always comes back to me writing down what i feel and trying to work it out myself. Hope to hear how you get on :)
