Would you rather be pretty and stupid or ugly and smart?

Pretty and stupid (err handsome in my case) sounds like a good deal to me. Why would you want to be smart AND ugly? It's like asking whether I would rather be rich and healthy or poor and sick

Attractive is better than not attractive, doesn't everyone agree? And "ignorance" truly does bring 'bliss' because you are more oblivious to the problems around you - but ignorance also sprouts problems of its own. So with the intelligence thing, it seems to be more of a question of would you rather be happy "right now" by being ignorant&stupid or struggle for now but achieve a higher quality of "happiness" later on with your intelligence (if at all). It's like taking a chance - you can use your intelligence to avoid silly&pesky things that bother most people, but your intelligence can also cause you to be distracted with all the problems around you and bring you down.

I voted for ugly and smart because...I'm a masochist and enjoy suffering? ignorance would be bliss...but it would also be ignorance...i've got slightly too much narcissism about my intelligence hiding under my bad self esteem, if i was dumb who would i look down on? (heh wow i'm in one of those moods)

Well, I don't have to choose. I am kinda average on both aspects already which is fine with me. Not gorgeous but not ugly either. Not super intelligent but not stupid either. I just want to get rid of this SA really.

I agree! I've known some really dumb people (still do), and the frustration of them not holding a conversation, not understanding what you're saying, and losing concentration rapidly gets tiresome.

Getting rid of SA is the big one. However, being "average" on both aspects is not generally a bad thing.

Nothing is ever black and white, it´s on scales. And what is pretty or ugly or smart and stupid is also discutable. I don´t even know what I am myself in reality. In fact I think I am ugly and stupid . Would like to be the opposite. Something we can change by adding some work, something not.

Thank you I don't think I am stupid. I do write better than I speak (especially when you take into account how much I edit). I am a social retard. Many times I am not able to hold a conversation. Sometimes I have a hard time hearing. You know. Others can infer that I am not that bright. And it wouldn't be their fault either.

Most people write better than they speak because they have time to come up with the correct response instead of being put on the spot.

It's also difficult to hold a conversation, especially if you already feel awkward around the other person.
