Would you do this if we told you it could help you get rid of SA?

Woud you STOP COMPLETELY using the internet/Tv if we guarantee you a S.A free life?

I said yes because it's kind of like asking, "would you stop eating ice cream if it would help you get rid of SA?" I don't think tv or internet has anything to do with my SA, but I'd give up both in a heartbeat if it would magically make me able to socialize effortlessly.
:)

I thought about that too, but since the question said "help you" rather than "cure you" I thought the OP must have been implying a connection between TV/internet and SA, rather than asking us to sacrifice something we valued as the price for a magical cure.

But when I think about it, even if they did mean give up TV/internet for a magical cure, I think my answer would still be no. ;)

For me personally, a absolute no.

The internet is such a powerful source of knowledge for me. Not to mention many of my interests lie in many different countries which I would have no other means of seeing/doing/reading other then on the internet.

Yes I would give them all up. Perhaps going to the movies with friends is allowed? I find it's unfulfilling to spend time on the internet and tv. Whatever I gain I forget anyways. I think the joy from successful socialisation is much greater than what technology can bring.

Ahhh. I answered "maybe".

There was one summer in which I didn't have internet access since I started using it: it was one of the best summers of my life and I was actually happy. I didn't want to admit that not having the internet and spending so much time online contributed to this 'cause I did not want to give it up. I still don't want to give it up. I don't use the internet in moderation, so I know limiting my use would help me a lot. I know my excessive internet use is an contributor to my SA, so I have that awareness. Sooner than later I will work on that. After this post I will get off this site! LOL...

Yes. I don't have t.v., just internet. BUT it would help me in the fact that my husband is on the internet %95 of the time he's home, he says he gets enough conversation at work and just wants to come home and be on the internet. It's really hard for me, as I'm home all day with no one to talk to and he's my only friend here.

So if it got him to talk to me yes I wish the internet was gone right now. I would spend more time outside exercising and working on my photography. I could use the push :)

Would it help me want to be around people? heck no. I'd read more books.
