why are so many users being banned?

i noticed this yesterday and pondered it overnight--- today i noticed that some were banned by request? what did these people do to get banned by request? if someone gave you constuctive critisism would you request to have them banned? unless someone is being sexually inappropriate in a criminal fashion, i can't imagine what could get so many people banned from a website like this? whats going on?

'Banned by request' means the banned user asked to be banned. I think it's rather silly. I don't think the mods do that anymore though.

Some want closure and their account closed but some want to go out with a big bang and lots of drama then come back and do it all over again. Very annoying, I'm glad it's been stopped.

It was a bad idea in the first place, it was my temporary idea as the webmaster would not allow moderators to delete accounts requested by the user, the mods got sick of it and so have passed the buck onto the webmaster.
