I've tried and tried and tried but I simply CANNOT fall asleep before 4 am. I'm beginning to think that I'll never see the morning hours again for the rest of my life.

I have this problem a lot - I stay up all night and then end up crashing for a nap around mid-afternoon.

The only bad thing about being up late is that I can't read in bed. My brother always goes to sleep before me, and we still share a room.

I also have restless leg syndrome that hinders my falling asleep.

Ugh I get that sometimes,it's horrible..your body and mind is tired, but it feels like your legs want to go on a run or somthing.

Anyway yeah my sleep pattern is eff'd up.I seem to get into a better routine if someone is staying/living with me,but even the last time I had someone over,I got into a routine of waking up at like 6 in the morning.

On my own I struggle to get to sleep, end up going to bed and getting up late.

i too have struggled with insomnia for years.

what i have found is that, days i am physically inactive, i get symptoms of restless leg syndrome, and have one hell of a time falling asleep.

the days i wear myself out physically...all those symptoms are gone.

it is, easier said, than done.

For some reason every time I go to sleep my socks fall off. It's annoying and I wake up with cold feet :( I think during nightmares I somehow kick them off

Just turn off the lights and focus on sleeping, i just don't have this problem because i wake up at 6 am everymorning regardless of what im doing that day and you will be tired by 10, 11 o'clock if you have an active day i guarantee.

i get insomnia in waves of 3-4 months at a time. i think i burn more calories asleep than awake. one time i tossed and turned so much i got tangled tight in the sheets and start panicing about being trapped. that takes talent. itd be funny if it werent so pathetic. but then ill have months with no problems sleeping. so its alright.
